Hi everyone,
First time user here.
I just had a quick question that I hope someone can answer.
We plan to arrive at the AKL around 6pm.
I want to take a quick trip to the closest park to upgrade my tickets to a premier pass and then come right back to the hotel.
Which would be the closest park and has the easiest AP booth to go to?
Or do you think we should just do it all the next morning?

If they are still open at 6 PM I'd go to the ticket center at DTD.

We were at Kidani about 2 weeks ago. We were on the Sunset Savannah, the 1st room off the lobby to the left looking out toward the savannah. There were 6 zebras and 4 adult/2 young giraffes out. Saw a zebra backing up to kick one of the young giraffes only to be kicked by the giraffe!

Go to animal kingdom. I assume you wish to use your ticket first, so it gets the gate value. correct?

2nd..I would also suggest using them 1st, but I'm not sure you can do this over at AK...I believe it has to be done at MK, or DTD..

I have a quick question for those who have stayed at AKL before--how much of a hassle is it to leave the MK for a break, then return later in the evening? Are we better of just staying at the park? We'll be taking the Disney bus.

Ted's advice is correct - go through the turnstile at a park first to activate the pass. Then exit the park and go to Guest Services (located just outside the turnstiles) to upgrade.

DizDad: it can be done at any of the parks, including water parks, and DTD.

Shinoe, depending what time you are heading out in the evening, AK may not be open. In that case, I would catch either a bus to DHS or Epcot.

While the MK bus ride is a bit longer than to the other parks, it's usually no problem to catch a bus from MK back to AKL during the day; then back to MK for the evening. Resort/Park buses run approx every 20 minutes. We've never had a problem catching a bus back to the resort or returning to the park!

All the ticket changes can be done at any Guest Relations booth, which they have at the entrance to every park, and at DTD as noted. If AK is still open at 6pm on the day you arrive, the guests relations should be open as well. You could go to DTD, but only if you actually wanted to spend that night at DTD!! Otherwise expect a good 2 hour round trip at that time.
If you can wait until the next morning and get to whatever park you have to be at 15 minutes earlier than you planned, that may be easier. Also note I think (not 100% certain) you need all AP holders present when activating.

I have a question... Can I get bunkbeds for a standard view? The website lists them under standard view, but when I called they said I can only get pool view and that I have to pay more. Anyone with more knowledge? Thanks!

T minus 15 days... I AM SO EXCITED!

Last day question...

So our departure flight back to Texas isn't until 7pm. We had planned to do AK that day, and be back after lunch. We have a FP for whatever the wet ride is at AK. I'm just wondering if that's a bad idea if we are leaving later that day, and we have no room to go back to since I believe late check-out, when available & without add'l fees, is only until 1pm.

Are there showers or lockers around the pool area?

Any advice on this plan would be appreciated. We were going to get an earlier flight home, but we got the 5 days for the price of 4 deal, so we figured we'd make the most of the day!

You can *request* bunk beds if you book a standard room, though the BBs are not guaranteed (meaning if there none available, you're out of luck). If you book the pool view bunk bed room, it's guaranteed. If it means a great deal to you, I'd book the BB room.

I keep getting conflicting answers to my question:

If I am staying as a regular guest at AKL (non-DVC), can I use the pool/play area at Kidani Village?

I have had a yes, no, and I don't know from three different people (two CM's and someone else not affiliated with Disney but stays at AKL). Can someone please confirm whether we can use Kidani's pools? If not, it may be the make or break point in staying at the lodge. Thanks so much!!
