Who here has had packages delivered to AKV or AKL?

Staying in AKV. How do I address any packages that I may want to mail down for pick-up upon arrival? And is there a fee for pick-up? TIA.

I sent packages to Jamboree house.

I shipped a box to myself and had Amazon send a flat of seltzer water (so happy I did that!!). I included my reservation number and arrival date on the shipping label, just to be sure, and tracked packages to make sure they were there.

I mentioned that I had packages as we checked in and they asked me if I wanted them sent up. We dropped stuff at our room, went to dinner, and when we came back the boxes were there. No charge (and no opportunity to tip, unfortunately). So easy and convenient! Absolutely awesome

hey guys! we've only stayed at values with outside walkway windows, and had a blast decorating them in the past. Do people decorate windows at AKL? is there a window in the hallway, or only windows that face outside. we are in a standard room. would anyone even see our window? any help would be most appreciated!

No window in the hallway, they all face outside. It's possible someone walking around outside may happen to see your window, patio door but unlikely.

That said, did so a bit of decorating when we took DGD for her 5th birthday. I put some signs on the door with tacky dots and hung some Cricut stuff on the walls. Well, I didn't do it, the CL staff did it for me while we were at dinner. It was mostly for us though, not others to see

I mailed a box to both WL and Pop in the past. I put the hotel name and address on the box. In the attention line I put my name, reservation number and arrival date. Both times the box was delivered to my room shortly after check in

We've stayed at AKL many times, but not since 2/12 so it's been a little while and the pricing is now different. On our next trip in June, my sister is staying at AKL, savannah view. We're at BWV so being near us is not a concern, but I'm wondering if there is any benefit to requesting a certain trail animal wise. She's traveling alone and gets up early so she's looking forward to sitting out on the balcony and looking at the animals. Most recently we stayed on Arusha, so I don't really remember what is on Uzima vs Sunset. Is one more active in the early AM vs the other?

Also, what is the time on the bus from AKL to MK? My wife and I are disagreeing, she says about 15 minutes, I say 20-25. This is assuming the bus is there right away.

In the morning the animals have to walk past the end of Zebra Trail Wing to get to the shelter where they are fed. We watched them every morning from our balcony on the end of the Zebra Trail wing. She's gonna love it.

I highly recommend that you not put anything on the interior doors it's frowned upon at AKL. Also they prohibit balloons at the resort for the safety of the animals, I would wonder if that would also be a concern about decorating balconey doors?

I tried reading through some of the thread to see if this has been asked before....but 144 pages is a lot of pages!

I'm toying with the idea of staying at AKL for our next trip, but my husband has a strict king bed policy. We usually like POR where you can pay for the king and guarantee it....and as much as I love POR, I'm being drawn to AKL. I know you can only request king beds, but can anyone tell me....how likely is it that this request would be granted? I mean, logically, I know that it really just depends....but people who may go a lot, how often vs not does your request get granted?

Big king bed fans here. When we made our reservations in 2010 we requested king room and got it.

I think they have about 15 king rooms going by what a C.M. on the boards told me when I was researching in 2010.

Now with that said we ended up changing our king bed near the Arusha Rock outlook to be farther down the hall with more privacy out our window and they only had rooms w/ 2 queens in that area so that is what we took (worked great for us). We were there during the slower month of Sept. So I would assume it would be even harder to get that king bed during high season (not sure when your going). Hope this helps.

19 days until check-in! Woo-hoo!!

We are doing CL and one of our mornings will be very early for SWW - are there any snacks that will be out the day before that you recommend grabbing to take while we wait on line at SWW the following morning? I am going to bring some zip-lock bags - I'm bummed we will miss one of our breakfasts in the lounge but an early line-up seems necessary for SWW!

Shopping for Groceries from AKL ....

I usually use a grocery service but plan this time to cab it. Has anyone gone to Town Center At Orange Lake ... the Publix or near by shops? I'm looking for a nearby location for food and beer.

...if you get onto Sherberth Road, take that to Irlo Bronson Hwy and make a right. There is a Publix about half a mile down the road, on the right side (it's on the corner).

Thanks, that is great. I see that on google maps now ... Too bad I couldn't walk there, it looks so close.

Remember that "AKV" includes both Jambo House and Kidani Village. I stayed AKV Club Level at Jambo House in March and had a package shipped there by FedEx. When I got to my room and called Bell Services to have my luggage brought up to my room, I told them about the package, but they refused to bring it up to my room. They said I had to go down to the front desk to get it. So I went down to the front desk, but it was too heavy for me to carry by myself. The lady at the front desk said she would have a runner bring it up. Someone did bring it up, but it took at least a half hour.

There is no fee to pick up a package shipped to Jambo House or Kidani Village. The fee is charged by an outside company which manages the offices in the hotel Conference Centers. AKL does not have a conference center.

According to Disneyworld.com, the address for Kidani Village is:

The address for Jambo House is:

I always put in the address "Hold for arriving guest [my name]."

You do not need to put your reservation number or arrival date on the package. If you are using a company like FedEx, there won't be room for all of that stuff on the label.

The shipping labels do have a place for the phone number of the address you are shipping to, so take the phone number with you when you go to ship the package.
