Poor Kimmar...:confused3-you can't get a break with this potential trip...I'm sending good vibes and thoughts in your direction...:goodvibes

Or on the other hand...maybe I should send some of whatever my DH has been taking, drinking, eating, etc....

This is the same man who said that I was a Disney maniac and we were going too much but...

He then "found" a deal so we are now going in August.

Well now...

for some reason...

that I don't understand...

He is talking about doing DVC??? Apparently he read somewhere about the current deal going on with Kidani-he saw pictures...and wants us to consider it??? :scared1:

Ok-now normally this could be kind of cool-right? Well I'm just wondering about this whole change of heart within 6 mos.? I mean who took my husband and is this guy an alien?

Men are so bizarre :scared:...(no offense intended to all the male writers/lurkers)

My DH has been doing the same kind of thing! Last week he sat down beside me and said, "I think when we retire we need to find a condo at the beach and buy DVC. That would make the best retirement, don't you think?"

Who replaced myBob with an Audio-Animatronic figure???

Welcome to the DVC Borg! You will be assimilated like the rest of us. :rotfl2:

I know just how you feel-you should be happy because on one hand it's great idea but on the other hand their out of character behaviour is just a little unexpected...slightly creepy almost...(twilight zone...:scared1:)

We're not retiring just yet, but whatever you guys are slipping your husbands, I want some too. :rotfl::goodvibes:lmao:

We aren't retiring for a long while either (just had those special 4-0 birthdays-and with the current economy I'm afraid we'll all be working at least another 4-0 years...) however as some as I figure out what substance he's been ingesting I will happily send you some...actually there could even be a market for it....which would mean more money for Disney...

Me too!!! I don't want to wait until we retire to move there.

I keep thinking this morning that 2 weeks ago we were in AK, having ridden EE 4 times in a row and then on to Tusker House for breakfast. I'm having a pity party -- selfish, I know. Trying to not feel that way, but I miss it -- did the minute I got on the plane to come back home.

That is the way I always feel when we come home...it's a let down...I think they put something in the air there-you always feel so warm and fuzzy and content...:cloud9:...sigh...but as soon as you leave the property it starts to disipate...sigh...

DON'T FIGHT IT! Just nod your head and smile. ::yes:: :)

OH-I'm not fighting it and I am nodding and smiling-I'm just also sleeping with a weapon under my pillow so when the alien that has obviously possessed him decided to hatch in the middle of the night-I'M PREPARED!

(Especially since his newest comment yesterday was in regards to the Disney Cruise Line and wouldn't it be a nice way to try to a cruise for four nights to see if we liked cruising??? Since if anyone would do a quality cruise it would be Disney...and did I know you could use your DVC points for this...???)

Oh he's possessed alright...

Laura, thanks for the list!! Do you have one with Kidani activities, too?? :goodvibes

Laura, thanks a lot!! There are a number of interesting adult focused activities at Kidani! That's one thing I love about AKL that they acutally try to get something about what they are across to the guests - starting at the story telling at the fire place to the cultural safari with a cast member from Africa! :goodvibes

So, Diana... have you made your ADRs for the F&W trip?

Laura and I are planning a get together AFTER YOU LEAVE :(

ugh...oh...ouch...wait...pulling the knife out...that one hurt Elin....:lmao:

Still gloomy abt missing you and Bob....we are still figuring out events etc...no ADR's made.....I think Bensmom wants to take me to Flying Fish..:rotfl2:lets see if she still is peeking in over here!

I would like to try Sanaa since I will be at Kidani for a few nights!

So after a lot of debate with my husband, I decided to cancel our planned trip on ABD to Ireland. I was planning to go with my mom and daughters. At the end of the day, I just couldn't justify spending the equivalent of a year's college tuition for one vacation. My husband readily agreed. And also agreed to my alternate plan of taking the three of them to the Food and Wine fest this year! So I now have a last minute split stay scheduled for 9/28-10/4 at AKL and WL. I'm beyond excited. I'm going to keep it a secret from the kids until we're in the car going to the airport (if I can:)).
Now I have to figure out my ADR's by tomorrow. My TA is out of town this week, so I'll just try booking them myself on the website without using a reservation number. I'm assuming I can do this, I just won't be able to do the 90+10 - I'll have to log on every day to do it? I'd send her an email with what I want, but I don't want her to have to worry about it on vacation.

Laura might be making some ADRs for you, not sure!

Bensmom is dreaming about a CA trip so we need to get her back on here talking to us about Disney. :upsidedow

Bob asked me last night if you would be at dinner with Laura and the two of us on Saturday night and when I told him no he pouted! :rotfl:

So far Sanaa doesn't do anything for me. I am sure that will change but I am not jumping up and down to give it a whirl yet.

How fun! I am originally from PA and DH went to Penn State. Where are you in Central PA?

As for your ADRs, by my count you ought to be able to make the ones you need for the 28th online today, or even call and make them all today. We arrive on the 2nd and my 90 day time frame is on Saturday.

I work in Harrisburg but live across the river in Lemoyne. My mom went to PennState eons ago (she might dispute the eons part, but Joe Paterno was an assistant coach at the time, if that means anything :)).
I made one ADR online for Jiko for our first night there. It wouldn't let me schedule for the rest of the week, just today. But I'm not likely to try any of the really hard to get reservations, so I'm not going to worry too much - I'll probably try to book Boma tomorrow for breakfast on the 29th. That will take care of our TS for the three days at AKL (Jiko is two TS, right?). Otherwise, I'll just see how things go. I know my kids would love the breakfast at Ohana, but since this whole trip is going to be a surprise, I don't they'll even think they've missed out on anything.
I sent my mom the link from the WDW for AKL and WL - she is already excited about Jiko!

This sounds like a wonderful plan! And good luck on your ADRs. I really loved Jiko when I was there, hope you will have a wonderful meal! :goodvibes

I'm not sure what is scarier-that I get the reference to the Borg or that it may becoming true...;)

right now feeling torn between :scared1: and :cheer2:

:goodvibes Honestly, I went through the same debate when I was looking at purchasing in '07. I am now so glad that I did purchase, but it is a very personal decision and you have to decide whether it is the right time for you.

I am actually going through the same decision again. On one hand, I want to add on at a second resort to use for a long weekend trip every other year. On the other hand, I am thinking about all of the non-Disney trips that I want to take and does it really make sense to add more DVC points when I already had enough to take an awesome trip each year in a 1 BR.

Wow tough decision! But having looked at the prices for ABD :scared1: I can definitely see your decision to switch to a WDW trip for F&WF.

I have a question I hope someone can answer. We are looking at staying at AKL Concierge Level in late Sept with our new DVC points :). Can anyone tell me about the food served in the CL?

Thanks!
