AKL LITE II - We're #2, but we try harder....

I was so glad to see this board still going-kimmar......as my DH just asked me if I would mind changing our summer trip to DC and Williamsburg to WDW, and specifically staying at the AKL ...

(we won't discuss that this is the same man who told ME that I had a Disney Addiction and needed a 12 step program. last year..-I will save that for another post...)

Anyhow apparently he found out that we have a $600 air credit and that Disney will be running the free dining after Aug. 16 and wouldn't the kids love to go...? kids my ... Can you say H.Y.P.O.C.R.I.T.E. much?

Anyway I'll get over it- cause I love the AKL (I also love the WL and in California the Grand Californian) but the AKL-it really just has something extra special about it...

so now I get to plan a 6 day, 5 night stay and I get to figure out what we're doing...time to get reading the board...oh say the last 100 pages...

We just loved the smells & the music -- we'd notice it in the hallways on the way to the lobby and we'd all smile...

I know, I know I've been MIA...I thought if I stayed away I could control my addiction...not think about the sights, the smells, the tastes, the sounds...But it didn't work...sigh...it just made me sad and lonely for others that embrace and understand the wonder that is the AKL...

So I haven't gotten through the 100 pages yet, but did you have to cancel a trip Kimmar?-say it isn't so...

wickey's friend-oh yeah I was crushed when he brought it up but I played it really cool and told him as seriously as I could that we would have to double check with the kids in the morning to make sure they were ok with it...he he.he-he actually thought I was serious..

Another fan of the scent of the AKL lobby.

I posted earlier that CMs are staying at Kidani this weekend and that a bus driver reported it was opening today. More reports on the DVC forums indicate that he was right...today was an "Open Mouse" for CMs at both Kidani and THV.

Another DVCer staying at Jambo House said she received an invitation to tour Kidani tomorrow am. Buses will transport guests.

No one else on this thread seems to care but I think it is so exciting!

I can't believe I missed getting to see Kidani by a couple of days...

I hope the water play area and pool are really great -- SAB needs a little competition...

If it's really nice, I would consider staying there for a couple of days on our next trip to AKL.

I care, I care! Donald is #1 informed me on my Facebook page that I might get a chance to go over tomorrow morning! I cannot believe that they won't let me in since I have 900 DVC points!!!!

Do you guys think I should take a chance and barge in after dropping Ben at school? (of course, with my camera).

I haven't heard from my castmember friends who are opening Sanaa, only because today was their big test. Do you know they have to know every single ingredient in every dish, and know the winelist backwards and forward! My CM friend says there are more selections than a "Perkins menu"!

So, I see no castmember online on my Facebook who I could ask...
