I was wondering if AKL offers a room with a king bed and bunkbeds. We have a reservation for a savannah view room. I know they have daybeds but it may not be comfortable for my 5'1" 11 year old. What do you think? If not king with bunk will a king with daybed be adequate for a child this size? Marilyn, 37 days!!!:bounce:

No, I was told they do not. The bunkbed rooms have one queen. The standard rooms do not have daybeds. I believe those are only in the deluxe rooms.

I think I have your answer here :D AKL offers a room with a queen bed & set of bunks... There is a "deluxe" room that offers the same configuration, but adds a daybed for a fifth person. We stayed on the fifth floor when we were concierge guests, and believe me, we really didn't notice any extra square footage...

AKL also has a king bedded room that accomodates 2 (I don't think they offer a daybed in the king room), then there are also rooms with 2 queen beds or 2 queen beds & a daybed (when staying in a deluxe)

We loved AKL! Be sure to ask for a room overlooking Arusha rock!!

Disnee Dad Says.............................We had a regular savannah view room, and we got one with a queen and bunkbeds. It was great, one bed for daughter, one for storage. Liked the room, but must warn you, it is small. Have stayed at Dixie Landings twice and at CBR, and the room was about the same size, maybe a foot or two bigger at the most. But, you have a balcony you can sit on, and watch the animals get within 50 feet if you are lucky. With good binoculors, we were able to see the eyes of animals 50 to 75 yards away! And please try BOMA's!! It was fantastic. You need to be a little adventurous. Not like climb Mt. Everest type of adventure, but willing to ride TOT type of adventure! They have the best oxtail stew I have ever had, although being from California, it's something we don't see very often!

Hi: Just got back from akl, we had a regular savannah view room, with one queen, two bunks that adult sized kids can sleep on, just as long as the queen bed.

Now the room was smaller about 340 sq ft. but it worked well for us. There is an area with a small wall coming out to divide the beds from the sink area, so we were able to get dressed in this area, a good sized closed opposite the sink area plus you have the balcony that you don't get at a moderate.

So all in all it worked good for us. There were four adult sized people here. We were hardly in the room anyways even if you are not in a park there are so many nooks and crannies inside and outside to explore, not to mention the fab huge pool.

Now if I was wealthy and didn't have to worry about the low canadian dollar, I would get two rooms at whatever resort I was in one for hubby and I and one for the kids, lol.

Deb.
