From allearsnet.com:

Any special programs?
Yes, there are a number of special programs offered throughout the day at AKL. Be sure to ask for a list when you check-in to the hotel. A sampling of the recent programs offered at the resort (all programs subject to change without notice):

--flamingo feedings at the Flamingo Pond
--animal tracking at Arusha Rock
--Music of the Savanna in the Sunset Lounge
--wildlife games in the Sunset Lounge
--African games and crafts on the Uzima Pool Deck
--cultural safari in the Sunset Lounge
--animal viewing with Night Vision
--Adventure Camp for children 6-14 that includes ostrich egg painting, private lodge tour and lunch overlooking the savanna.
--Cookie decorating at Boma

Outside, at the Arusha Rock, there is nightly African storytelling next to Ogun's Firepit. (Storytelling is held indoors in the event of inclement weather.) If you have the opportunity, take the time to speak with the storytellers.

I took pictures of the whole activity board and then of each separate listing on the board. This is from a year ago, so things may have changed, but I honestly don't think they change it much or often...

(this is in order from morning to night)

9:30 Flamingo Activity - Flamingo Pond *bead activity
11:00-1:30 Animal Tracking - Arusha Rock *bead activity

7:50 Primal Parade - Zawadi Marketplace
8:30 Cultural Safari - Sunset Lounge
9:00-11:00 Animal Viewing w/Night Vision - see sign at Flamingo Pond for location

There is also a Ceramics Class T/Th 12:00-2:00 in Simba's Cubhouse for all ages - there is a fee for this, and also the kid's Adventure Camp - I think the details of the camp have changed recently though, so I won't post my info since it is likely wrong.

THanks to both posters for the great information. My girls will be 5,4, and almost 3 when we are there. I would love to hear which activities everyone elses kids enjoyed best- We are trying to decide how much time to spend at the akl itself!

We were at AKL last December & participated in the Primal Parade, the Storytelling at the fire pit, and the Night Vision Animal Watching. I did the Culinary Tour (3:45pm) & that was fabulous. Kids are allowed on this tour but mine weren't interested. When we were there, the activities started late every single night, so hang around for awhile if you don't see an activity that is posted.

Our whole family LOVED the story telling beside the fire pit in the evenings! This is a majorly awesome hotel!
