I was about to do an online check-in for AKL-K and noticed they ask are there any requests..... Given that we reserved a 1 bedroom Standard view, what sort of requests could we possibly make?

Any suggestions to make our stay better would be appreciated!

Thanks....

GO PHILLIES!!!!!!

I always request top floor. It's always quieter on the top floor because no one is above you. Also request if you want to be 1) closer to the pool or 2) closer to Jambo or 3) close to the lobby? They all have their benefits.

We had Rafiki building, top floor. This worked out great because both elevators were very fast. You were in the lobby quickly, or down to the parking garage and out to the pool. Our view was of the front entrance, and you could see the pool area (not much of the pool). The bus noise was practically non-existent with all the doors closed.

We always request top floor as well - I just like it.

We to always request the top floor no matter where we stay. However after getting a top floor in Jambo House last year this year we are going to request a lower floor and be closer to the animals. We enjoy the top floor because no one is above you but the room we had last year was so noisy from the A/C fans on top of the roof. All you hears all morning and through the night was sqeak squeak squeak!

Top floor at Kidani May not be as quiet as some may think. Another poster just said it about the AC units. The other reason to be on the lower level is the View of the savanna. We were on the 3rd or 4th floor the first time we stayed and our view was blocked by the trees.

We stayed Oct,3rd-9th and had a first floor(lobby level) room and it was spectacular. also make sure you request close to the lobby. The first stay we were so far away from the lobby it took 10 min to walk to the lobby and the bus station. :scared1:

We recently stayed at Kidani, and were on the top floor, room 7943. It was a studio, but the view was good. However, it was a long haul from the elevator, about 5 sections away. You could see the pool to your left, and the safari the remainder of the way around.
HTH

Oh wow I thought there were elevators every second section or so. Thats no fun!

I was talking to my husband here and we are looking at a map of Kidani. Did you mean you were 5 sections away from and elevator to the parking garage underneath or 5 sections away from the elevator to the lobby??? Thank you. :)

So if the lobby is on the 1st floor and I request a 2nd floor room, the parking garage will not be right underneath me, correct? I assume the parking garage is not counted as the 1st floor.

1st floor is the lobby and the parking garage they are on groung level aka 1st floor. 2nd floor would actually be the 1st floor of the Villas. So if you request 2nd floor the parking garage will indeed be right below you.

Thanks! Obviously, I was wrong. Does anyone know if there is any kind of noise problem from being directly above the parking garage? I want to be close to the animals, but I'm very sensitive to noise. Would I be better off requesting 3rd floor? (Sorry for highjacking the thread!)

I can only tell you what I have been told from a thread on here I started called Best Floor Level at Kidani. I too am sensitive to noise and read on another thread that someone could hear a bob cat or some type of equipment working in the parking garage. I got many replies and nobody else was able to hear nothing from the garage. We have requested level 3 and think after everyones wonderful experiances we will keep it at that. Hope that helps! :) Oh and if your interested here is the link to the thread I was speaking of. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2316741

;) Don't mean to hi jack the thread but I was checking in online tonight at Kidani. I could not get a CC to be accepted for my self or my MIL and I could not request a special accomodation at all....the option was there it just would not let me type any thing in it. Was I doing something wrong??

By special accomidation do you mean a basic room request?

I did online checkin for AKL in September. I was able to leave the credit card, however, the room request option did not work for me either. If you have a request, you would want to call member services. I think I read on the boards somewhere that this does not always work.
