I know the difference in square footage between the value and the standard 1 bedroom at Jambo House, but I've been trying to find pictures or a layout showing the difference. Every single pic or layout is of the standard. I know it's a tight fit and that you lose the fold-out chair, but I'd like an overall view.

If you have pictures or have found a layout for the value 1 bedroom, please share. Thank you!

I know in the studio they swap the locations of the bed and sleeper sofa with the bed closer to the window and the sofa nearer the door. I've also heard it is tough to close the bedroom door with the one bedroom because the bed is so close to the door. The room is about three feet shorter in depth than the standard or savanna view villas.

We've stayed in a Value 1BR but I can't find any pictures I took. All I really remember is things were just a bit tighter and no sleeper chair. The bedroom was smaller as you know the difference is in the depth of the room, not the width.

The kitchen and bathroom areas in the Value 1BR will be the same size as those in the standard size Jambo 1BRs. The 3 feet or so of difference in the length/depth of the rooms is taken from the bedroom and living areas. So when looking at the photos of the standard size Jambo 1BRs, look at the living area and the master bedroom and imagine the same furnishings in the room but squished into a space that is 3 feet shorter. I think someone posted that you don't get a chair in the master bedroom because the room is too small to accommodate one.

The Value room balconies are also not as deep as the Standard/Savanna View room balconies.

Here is a link to an old trip report with photos of a Value 1BR. It's from 2009 so it shows the original (pre-refurb) furnishings: https://www.disboards.com/threads/live-trip-report-from-akv-with-pics.2145703/ In the master bedroom photos, it's clear there is no chair between the bed and the sliding door as there is in the non-Value 1BRs. There is also a photo of the balcony, showing how narrow it is.

Here is a thread with some images from the original floor plans for Jambo House showing the size difference. The difference is about the width of the outer dimensions of the bathtub, so about 2.5 to 3 feet: https://www.disboards.com/threads/ak-value-standard-view.2063354/

We stayed in one for a few days in April of this year and loved it. We had a view of the pool. We were close to the elevator. Our bathroom was huge. Kitchen great. No complaints. We were 2 adults, a 6 year old and an 8 year old.

Thank you! Exactly what I was looking for. I think it'll work out perfectly for us, and save a ton of points!

Thanks! We'll have two adults, an 11 yr and an 11 month old. It may be tight with the Pack n' Play crib, but I think it'll work. We don't spend a ton of time in our room anyway.

Have been in a 1BR value (actully as part of a 2BR). They are obviously smaller than other 1BRs but they are a lot larger than many may believe. If you have ever stayed in 1BR suites as part of a hotel system, then you are likley to be pleasantly surprised because the value is much larger than most of those that I have ever run into. The room that will feel the smallest and cramped is the kitchen area but it is still OK (having the center table in the kitchen is what makes it feel so small and personally I think it should have been designed without that center table). For your group, you will otherwise have plenty of room.

There's plenty of room in the bathroom for the Pack n Play. Of course, you will want to take it out of there when you're not using it, but it can make for a decent "bedroom" in a pinch. It should also fit in front of the door that connects to the studio.

We bought our points at AKV specifically for those value rooms. We like to save points and stay in the 1BR's when it is just our family of 4. If it's just me and DH, or me and a friend, the value studios cannot be beat. I'm going in October for 5 nights with my BFF and it's only costing me 45 points. When we have "leftovers", we splurge and book a 1BR standard at Kidani...that extra bathroom is awesome now that our girls are 11 and 13.

Uggg - you can have the rooms with no center island. I love that feature.

Our home resort is SSR, but of course we are contemplating more points. AKL is definitely in the running.
