AKL....Help which view???

I'm a little confused. We are leaving for AKL in January. I'm trying to decide on which view to request. I think I'm leaning toward the Zebra trail but I'm a little confused, I've seen mention of Arusha Rock and Arusha Savannah. Is there a difference or is the Rock and the Savannah the same? I certainly don't want a view of a rock! My DD would be very disappointed! AND any insight or suggestions on those that have been would be greatly appreciated, we are very excited!

Arusha Savannah is the name of one of the savannahs were the animals roam.

Arusha Rock is the public viewing area that extends from the lobby into Arusha Savannah.

Zebra Trail is one of the hallways with rooms that face Arusha Savannah.

Arusha Savannah is at the top/middle. You can see Arusha Rock viewing area and Zebra Trail is off to the upper right.

We stayed on Zebra Trail and like it a lot had a good view and great time.

Hi mep319,

First what view did you book? Standard view, pool view or savanna view?

If you have booked a savanna view room then I would suggest that you request a view of Arusha Savanna. This is the savanna in the middle that the Arsuha Rook public viewing area extends into. You can also request a trail and a floor but keep in mind that you might not get all if any of your requests. That being said I would go for Zebra Trail 2nd Floor.

Another request that I would put in would be to ask to be near a feeding location.

My last room was Zebra Trail, 4th floor, Arusha Savannah. Outside our room was a watering hole and 2 feeding locations for the Giraffes. One day we had 15 animals within sight and picture range!

Zebra trail past the elevator location is good, you won't get as much foot traffic as you get if you are close to the lobby.

I personally would request:
Zebra Trail
Uzima Savannah
4th floor
Near feeding location

We stayed on the 2nd floor on Arusha last trip and I did not like it as well as Uzima -- the people walking around Arusha rock just didn't do it for me -- and we were on the 2nd floor which was noisy and not as good a view...
