AKL for $168/night - Good deal?

Yes, it's good. Rack rate for that room is around $300.

Sounds like a good deal to me, I decided to stay with the standard view in hopes for an upgrade when we check in otherwise I'll just be glad to stay at AKL!

vacanut - standard view rooms are really not bad at all. We had one and to be honest I would rather book a standard view room for the cheaper price then pay for a savannah view. There are plenty of public viewing areas - most of them usually have no one around.

I am going in just a few days (Nov19-21) and we got a FL res rate of $121 a night for a pool view. I am very happy with that! I would say that the rate you got is very good! Have fun!

$168 a night is a great deal for Savannah view. Standard view (also known as Parking Lot view) is fine, but there is a good reason it is discounted: it has a view of the parking lot. I will happily pay a little more to get the awesome savannah view. If you are on a really tight budget, booking the standard view in hopes of an upgrade could be a very good choice, but if the view is important, ensure it by booking the savannah view, especially at that price.

Note that it's a little bit less using the AP rate in January ($151, as I recall), but your $168 is very nice. AKL is by far our favorite resort. Enjoy!

I got that same rate for savannah view room for 12/25-1/1, and
I hope that is a good rate for that time also?

I booked mine with the BAT code for Nov-Dec. I was at All star
sports originally but with the code they didn't have openings and
moved to AKL. I am so dissappointed.

I read on this board that AKL is the resort that is most likely to give a complimentary upgrade (since they don't have as many standard rooms as most of the resorts). If I were you, I would wait and see if they give a free upgrade when you get there and then if they don't, you can upgrade (for a cost) at check-in.

Assuming this is including tax yes it is a great rate. It is the AP rate of $151 plus tax a night. I was able to get this rate for our upcoming January 2005 trip. What time frame is your trip?

It's 12/4-12/12. It wound up being way too expensive (it was a bit more than $168).. see my post about how they SCREWED my reservation up though!! Geez o man.
