As you know from previous post, my dd got really sick and threw up as we were checking into the hotel.
We removed her red Baby Phat goose down coat and placed it in the laundry bag and called to have it picked up for cleaning, along with her sweatsuit. Which was done immediately.
We got up early in the morning and had breakfast at Boma's. DD ate very lightly as she was still not feeling well, but wanted to go on with her trip. She is a real trooper and never really complains. She is the one who at home never says, "I hurt or I am sick." We went to the MK and boy, there were long lines for security, which as a former Police Officer, I thought of as a joke. They barely looked into our bags or saw anything. Oh, well, it was time to go and see the mouse.
Main Street looked the same as I remembered and we all became children again. This was my Aunt's second trip (a brief trip 8 yrs. ago) on a whirlwind two day tour of Disney before doing a cruise.
We had a great time, did everything from rides, haircut, to pin trading (which I swore I wouldn't do) but couldn't stop and my DS got really hooked on it that we had to buy him a zippered case to tote around as I refused to wear all the lanyards. The only disappointment, the parks all closed early so we didn't spend as much time as we did. It was chilly at night, but we went back to our room, where I saw the dry cleaning bag hanging in the closet. I looked at the coat and saw that it was ruined. All the goose down feathers were missing and the coat looked a nylon parachute. Okay, now what do I do? I went to the lobby with the coat and they looked at me in a weird way. The manager comes out and says, I don't see what is wrong with it. I politely ask her if she knows what a puffy down coat looks like. She says, "Yes," and I, in a very nice manner said, "this used to be one, but now it has nothing." She was curious and wanted to know what had happened to the feathers and so did I, but who knows, I think one of the savannah animals was cold and used them for cover. After all kinds of apologies, they informed me that they could take me shopping the next day, or I could take a cab and would be reimbursed for the fare; find a coat with any luck, at any of their resort stores or parks, or go to an outlet and get one. They would pay for this coat to get her back to NY and would give me another $125 to buy her a coat in NY. I was satisfied and went back to my room.
Day #3 - DD woke up better. We slept late and made it to MGM and had a brief snack. We did some of the rides, Who wants to be a Millionaire (where a 7 yr. old made it to the hotseat and the $64,000 question), did all the typical character greeting and autographs, watched the parade and had dinner at Prime Time Cafe since my son had to have the Peanut Butter Shake. This time I asked for the recipe and encountered the first glow cube. They come in different colors and in some places they are included in your drinks (whether adults or children's) or they are $1.95 extra. Okay, now our drinks are glowing and the food was very good. Our waiter was very nice and the food was actually very good.
We head back out of the park and go back to the hotel to relax.
Day 4 - Today we do Epcot. We walked and walked and walked. We did a lot and did a lot of shopping.
But alas, no coat. Still looking. We headed to the Beach and Yacht Club where we met our pontoon driver, Kimi, for our fireworks cruise. We also met the other two couples that had agreed to join us, through this board. It was a great time and we enjoyed it. However, someone on the bridge must have felt jealous that we were all in such advantageous area, that they threw debris at us. The pontoon drivers admonished them and that was the only bad blemish on our night. Returning back to the BYC, Kimi allowed my DS to steer our boat. He had a blast and enjoyed himself. DD is feeling much better.
