AKL/DLR DVC as reported by Mouseplanet

FWIW, when my dh pressed our guide for info, she indicated that indeed, the AKL would have the next DVC. So we'll see I guess!

I though I read here on the Dis resorts board that Disney closed the entire wing - when the pictures of them rehabing first appear.

I could be wrong!!!

but Disney is pretty good about safety first.

You guys are going to be real disapointed when they announce SSR stages 4-22. Why do you think they are building a model at the theater at SSR. They will add on to SSR for the next 25 years... :rotfl2: Not that I don't love SSR BUT I AM SICK OF THAT BEING THE NEW RESORT... :hourglass

I think we would all love to look foreward to a CR or AKL resort. :dance3:

especially since that will made something else the new resort - and people can then say what is wrong with the new resort....and leave SSR alone!!! :cool1:

Don't forget SSR will become utopia and everyone will be furious at the low life dirtbags who will be buying in and taking up rooms at OUR resorts. :rotfl:

they do defentiely need a dvc in disneyland or by disneyland, im sure it will sell great. i will never buy there but i might be interesting in getting in on the 7 month window. i never been to disneyland but a lot of people say there is no more room at disneyland for another hotel. so maybe we will see one down the road a few miles or whatever. i will love to see dvc at akl
i would imagine it will be a small resort and it will be hard to get at the 7 month window.as for the contempt i dont really care for that.

There is an article on Miceage.com that addresses future plans for a DL DVC. It states that future plans discussed at a recent meeting included expanding the Grand Californian Hotel, replacement of the Disneyland Hotel  , expansion of DCA, and the placement of the first Disney Vacation Club property in California.

Here's a link to the article if you want to read it.

All I know is that if a DL DVC is built, I'm BUYING! :cool1:

If SSR is currently $101 for new or existing members (minus any incentives) what do you think will be the price for the next DVC? $115 would be close, right?

This just in:

Any announcement of future DVC expansion have been put on indefinite hold. It seems the presentation renderings and information booklets were shipped out with the giclee prints and have not arrived yet. :confused3

115 dollars sounds about right but you know they will have at least 10 dollars off to make it around 105. they always have it higher for than what they sell it for so it seems like you are getting a great amount off

I thought they did it in stages, and did not close the entire wing, but SpiceyCat said they closed the complete building, I truly don't remember. :confused3

I just know I checked about the possibility of requesting the North Wing in the next couple of months and was told they would be rehabbing the rooms with the new decor.

Hi Sammie- You're right - they did it in stages. Last December we had the pleasure of a construction view room in the South Wing. The hallway had been redone, but our room had not. The view was of a bunch of construction in the other part of the wing.

That said, I am totally depressed to read all this today!! We LOVE CR, but can't stand to stay in a regular hotel room. We've been dreaming of a 1-bedroom villa at CRV for months. Uggghhhh!!! Maybe some day!

now that is depressing.

I know I was hoping for a Cont too!!!

the pictures I saw on the resort board - actually looked like they removed a wall - was this real or just a joke?

Whichever comes, gives us more choices.

I'll wait for the official annousement.

Not sure that I am understanding all of this. Anaheim has no where to build a new resort at this moment, but of course we all know how secretive Disney is about buying land and plans for the future, but when we were then in August and bought into SSR, our guide even mentioned that of course at this time there is no where to build at DL.

This is all very interesting to me. But still glad that we bought at SSR. Don't think I would be interested in DL.

I think when they announce the Animal Kingdom DVC, the resale value of SSR will drop unless the point cost increases.

Just a thought...
