AKL - deluxe savannah view room suggestion

Hi everyone! We finally did it and booked AKL concierge for our upcoming trip. We will be there Nov 27- Dec 3. Can't wait ... it seems like an eternity.

Quick question:

I know the Zebra trail is a good spot but has anyone stayed in specific rooms, either at the Zebra trail or other trails that have good views and aren't looking at the people pens? Trying to decide what to request as we had troubles last year and get to call 10 days out with very specific requests that they will try to honor. Any help is appreciated.

We have stayed in rooms 5511 and 5515 (concierge and non). They are right down the hall from the back elevators. These rooms are in the center of the zebra trail and have a great view of the savannah. Room 5515 is on the end of a section and has an extra chest of drawers which comes in handy if you pack a lot of clothes.

Thanks ... that helps. I was wondering if you could see all the way across the savannah from those rooms or does Arusha rock block the view?

We've stayed in both the Zebra Trail and the Kudu trail and didn't find the view much different (both times looking in at Arusha Rock). We have yet to be assigned to the other savannahs, but I've heard there are good viewing spots on all sides (and bad ones). Hope you have great luck!

Yes, we could see across the savannah to the other side of the lodge. The rooms are above Arusha Rock.
