AKL - Deluxe Savannah -v- Standard

Can anybody tell me what the differences are, is any, between the deluxe and standard savannah view rooms ?

I am thinking in particular about the rooms with the 1 x queen and bunk-beds.

The deluxe rooms are a little bigger (and I mean a little) and they are located on the 5th and 6th floors.

We stayed in a savahhah room (not deluxe) , had bunks and qeen size bed. The view was unbelievable. I believe the deluxe are the same but slightly larger

Deluxe rooms at AKL sleep 5 people; standard rooms sleep 4~

I was upgraded from std savannah to deluxe in Feb - no difference except for a bit extra room - still only had 2 queens - no pull out or anything for a 5th person - perhaps it would be easier to squeeze an aerobed or rollaway into the deluxe if you had to.

I think I've had a standard view once, and it was more of a "backyard" view - still a savannah, but not the big one out front, so there were far fewer animals. I think I only saw some birds and once the big cattle on the whole trip. I'd go for the deluxe if I were you, if cost is not prohibitive...

The rooms are a little larger with a daybed. The are on the 5th floor, unless you are Concierge and then they are also on the 6th floor. Both times I have been I have been upgraded from Savannah view to Deluxe Savannah view. We did enjoy the extra room.

Keep in mind that if you are a party of 4 or fewer, they may not give you one of the Deluxe rooms that sleeps 5. They reserve these for groups of 5. I've stayed in deluxe savanna view rooms at AKL twice and both times had 2 queens. Both times we were a group of 4; the room has a little extra space, a larger balcony and an extra chair~
