We are looking to purchase our first contract... AKL... $75/point.. Mar 11-184 with 84 banked points.. is that a good deal?? A bit nervous over the whole process! :dance3:

Hello!
Current point price for AKV through Disney is $120/point, I believe. So yes you are getting a fantastic deal. I bought in 2008 at AKV and still paid upper $90's/point. Good Luck!

Looks like a good price to me.:goodvibes There are people who bought at lower prices, but if this seems like a price you can live with, go for it. You need to be happy with the price you pay, not what others paid.:dance3: Good luck.

You need to be happy with the price you pay, not what others paid

I generally agree with this...but....if you don't know what others are paying you could way over pay....ie if you didn't know better you might think $100 for a cheeseburger at mcdonalds was "good".

Thanks so much for the information! It was listed at $85/point so we thought it was great that they accepted $75/point.. :rolleyes1

It does look like we are in the ballpark.. the closest one would be the

100 AKV (Sep) $70, 80 '10 pts, all '11 pts, buyer pays closing and mf

We get 100 AKV (March) $75 with 87 '10 pts and we are splitting mf...

I agree with being happy with what we are wanting to pay but I am such a nickle and dimer that knowing what the others are paying definitely helps... :goodvibes

Once we made the verbal offer and they had sent us the contract.. we can't go back and re-negotiate right?

Honestly if the price works for you that is all that matters! I think it is a good deal, if you are thinking about the 5.00 pp less you are talking about 500.00 total over the remainder of the contract 45 years (about 11.00 per year) Hope all goes well for you and enjoy the excitement!

We bought direct the 1st time and looking to add on another 160pts. We found this stripped contract from the Timeshare store. Seller is asking $75/pt for a 160pt contract with no point until December 2012. Do you think my offer is too low if I were to make an offer @ $65/pt.

I don't think that is too low.. :goodvibes after the information posted here.. we went on to look at various other contracts.. we signed and sent in our deposit yesterday!! :cool1::woohoo: A little nervous since we have not received the sellers signed contract back yet... will wait to post details once we get to ROFR... :cool1:

People have said all they can do is say no.. I don't think it is too low as one contract we passed on was 68/pt for 100 points.. September use year with all 2011 + 2012 points.. good luck!!

I've been stalking AKV and that sounds like a decent contract to me. I've seen some sold at that price without banked points. Good luck!

Thanks so much for all the great information from you guys on this board!! I looked at the ROFR pricing and we decided to offer at $70/pt on a different contract that had all 100 2010 points.. since it was a DEC use year and I was worried that it would not close in time for it to be banked in July, we asked the sellers to bank those points as part of the contract.. It got accepted without a counter!! :cool1::banana::banana:

We did end up getting it for 5pp less and saved $500.. that is half a new lens for my camera.. :rotfl: Now I can't wait for the rest of the process so we can start using those points! :cloud9:
