AKL connecting rooms question

Hi,

Has anyone ever requested 2 connecting rooms standard view at AKL?

Are all the standard room views overlooking the parking lot even though they are connecting?

We had two connecting standard view rooms at AKl last May. They were on the 3rd floor. All the standard view rooms at AKL face the parking lot which is the front of the lodge. Where we were though we couldn't really see too many cars. The upper floors probably would though. Our rooms were in Ostrich Trail.

Is there a lot of noise from cars / busses / taxis with this view?

Surprisingly we heard no noise at all from our rooms. And even though we faced the parking lot it really was quite nice sitting out on the balcony after a hectic day in the parks. There was alot of bushes and trees around our rooms so it was a better view than what we thought we'd get. Ostrich Trail is the opposite side from the bus stop so that could be why it was quieter. It was a bit farther to the pool and restaurants but just walking through the lobby of this awesome resort was so wonderful that we didn't mind at all. We actually looked forward to hearing the African drum music each morning and evening.
