Back from 1 week at AKL CL.

WOW, WOW, WOW!

First time staying at this hotel and Concierge level.

We arrived on a Sat. at 6:30pm with a bus load. We were taken directly to the lounge for check-in and they had appetizers and drinks. Buddy checked us in and immediately got my husband a Africian beer.

Our room 5423 was ont the Zebra trail and we had animals all day long (except they take them to the barn for treats and Vet care 2 hours a day). we had 3 Zebras, 3 Girraffes and loads of antelopes. We got Towel animals too!

The CL staff and IPO staff at this resort was wonderful! We had some trouble with the airline on checkout and the CL staff personally took us to the airport (and this problem was with Delta and not Disney)

I give this resort a A+

I'm interested in the problem you had with Delta. We are flying with them for our trip, and they've already changed our flight times twice. I am quite nervous that something will go wrong on their end. If you don't mind sharing, what was your experience?

Departure from WV: they changed our flight time when we picked up our itinerary from our travel agent (10 days prior). I had arranged my kidney dialysis that day based on our flight.

Departure from WV: we got to the airport at 9:30am for a 11am flight and they changed us again (for the better) We got in 2 hours earlier.

Departure from WDW: We went to the resort airport check-in to check our bags for the Magical Express and to get our boarding passes. We were told we had to check in at the airport. We asked why and was told rudely to get out of line. The AKL baggage supervisor told us to call Delta.

We went to the AKL Concierge and they called Delta.

First we were told there was no flight number that matched our itinerary.
then we were told we were not on any flights out of Orlando and to call Disney.

After 1 1/2 hours of not knowing if we had a flight, AKL took us to the airport.

We checked in curb side with no problems. Go figure?

Welcome home! I've read that AKLC has cut back on some of the food/bevereage offerings. Would you detail them for us? Thanks!

We were at AKL Thanksgiving week and the food and beverage offerings were the same as during our previous stays.

At breakfast time there were a variety of muffins, pastries, croissants, and bagels along with cold cereal, yogurt and oatmeal. They also had orange juice, pineapple juice and mago juice as well as a selection of fresh fruit. The refridgerator was stocked with milk (white and chocolate) and juice.

In the early afternoon there were snackc such as nuts, goldfish crackers, gummi bears along with lemonade, ice tea, and African Smooth. The refridgerator was stocked with pop and juice.

During afternoon tea they offered an assortment of cookies, rice crisy treat, and other pastries along with lemonade, ice tea, and African Smooth. The refridgerator was stocked with pop and juice.

In the evening there were always chicken nuggets and pb&j along with a variety of cold dishes such as lentil salad, chicken flatbread, cous cous, etc. They also offered a variety of meat skewers, chicken wings, meatballs and ribs which rotated throughout the 10 nights we stayed. There was ample wine and beer offered along with lemonade, ice tea, and African Smooth. The refridgerator was stocked with pop and juice.

The late night offerings included a variety of desserts such as cookies, brownies, truffles and zebra domes. There were cordials offered along with lemonade, ice tea, and African Smooth. The refridgerator was stocked with pop and juice.

The staff were outstanding throughout our stay.

This is so wonderful to hear!! We are staying AKL Concierge in February for four nights and I am so excited (just confirmed the Sunrise Safari!!). I have heard so many positive things about the concierge staff and all our contact/emails with them have been so friendly and positive...I love hearing this!

I would also be interested in any details you have regarding offerings, events, anything...!
