Hi everyone

We've (me, DH, DS, and 2 newphews ages 9 11 & 14) got a redeye flight from California in the month of July which means our plane arrives around 545AM.

I'm estimating that by the time we get to the hotel on Saturday morning it will be about 715AM. I do know that the room is not going to be available that early but can we go ahead and check in at that time.

I was thinking about getting a PS for Donald' Breakfasaurus and let the kids go crazy at AK for awhile and head back to the hotel early afternoon. Or, should be we plan on eating at Bomas for breakfast and just hang out at the hotel/kids go swimming or go to AK.

Advice please on how you would plan this day

Thank you.

Personally, I'm pooped whenever I'm on a redeye flight from the west coast. I'd just want to hang around the resort with the hopes I'd get my room before 3:00. I'd eat breakfast, then play and relax by the pool. When you check-in, if you really don't have any room preferences, if your room isn't ready yet, ask if another one is available. Explain your long redeye flight from the coast and maybe they'll be another room available for you to get into right away. Sometimes the room you are assigned isn't ready, but another one might be.

Hi there...

I stayed at AKL concierge last August..

When you arrive the bellman will either escort you to your room (if it's ready) or up to the concierge lounge.

You are arriving at breakfast time... if I were you I would let your family relax in the lounge and enjoy breakfast there.

The concierge staff will be able to give you an indication of when your room will be ready so you can plan around that.

They are very kind and considerate to concierge guests - if there is a room available I am sure they will give it to you immediately - if you have some specific requests for area/view - it may take longer to recieve your "particular" room.. If you are easy going and don't care about your view or placement - you may get one right away.

Have a wonderful holiday and enjoy concierge.

Hi there,

We are leaving in 9 days and are taking a 7am flight. The airline wants us at the airport 3 hours before that, so we will be up quite early that morning.

I am planning to get to the resort and just hang out on our first day. We will be so tired that I figured whether or room is ready or not, we'll probably crash at the pool and hang out the rest of the day.

The only thing I planned is Hoop De Doo for 5 pm that day.

Have a great time

9 Days Lizzie... woohoo!!

How old are your kids again? This is going to be a big experience.. have they flown before?

I know.

I've started packing and putting stuff together. My house is a shambles.

My twins are 15 and my little guys are 4 and 2. And yes they've all flown. I went to Florida 2x with my 4 year old when he was a year old and our last trip to Disney he was 2 and my 2 year old was only 3 months old.

Can't wait.

We're in the same situation as the OP. We're arriving at about 6am (we're driving), and I am hoping against hope that they'll be able to put us in a room. I think it may work for us because we're arriving on 12/6, which is not exactly a busy time. I will hold out for my room choices though, if need be ... I can sleep on a chaise at the pool!!!
