We're staying at AKL concierge for the first time. What room requests should I make? I talked to the IPO today about other things and they asked me if I had any room requests. I said I didn't know. He said that he would put me as far down the hall as possible because those rooms had the best views. Is this right? Is it a long haul to the elevators to get to the lounge? Any tips will be appreciated. Thanks.

We're booked to stay there, too.

Room requests can be 2 queens or 1 queen & a bunk bed.

Then just location. Have you seen the map of AKL? It does look like it's a really long walk to those "end of the hallway" rooms. And some people here do complain about it, while others dont seem to mind the walk so much.

For us, we want a good view, but we dont want to be all that far from the elevators and the lounge. It just depends on what really matters to you.:)

We were on the Zebra trail, in the middle. It was the closest to the pool, food court, etc. It was a really nice view.

We were at the AKL CL in Oct and I requested a king bed on the zebra trail and I had an amazing view! It was middle of the hall, close to the back elevators that take you down to the pool and the food court. To get to the CL lounge 6th floor you have to use the front elevators so it was a bit further of a walk but not by much.

Make sure you book the Sunrise Safari as it is the most amazing thing ever and made staying at the AKL totally worth it.
