AKL concierge question!

We are booked at the AKL concierge in February!

I was just wondering, are there any rooms at all on the 6th floor where the lounge is, or all the concierge rooms on the 5th floor?

We were wanting to be near the lounge, but I thought I read that the lounge was on the 6th floor and the rooms were actually on the 5th floor? Is that correct?

We'd love to be near the lounge, but still have a good Savannah view. Is such a request possible?

Also, do we make our room request on our ressie as we usually do - or should we let the concierge staff know of our preferences directly?

And, one more question, is there Wi-Fi access in the concierge lounge?

There are a handfull of rooms up on 6. Maybe 12 Savanna & 9 poolview... not very many at all. The bulk of the concierge guests are on 5.

The Savanna views on 6 are not as good as on 5. 6 is the Sunset Savanna and the rooms overlook some roof areas before seeing the savanna. 5 is much better as you are on the Arusha savanna.

I just make my requests when I book and don't mention it again to Concierge, but I do know sometimes people do mention what they would like to the concierge staff. I believe the rooms as assigned by the room assigners but maybe if you have a specific request that you push for they can make it happen

So, if I request a room overlooking the Arusha Savannah as close as possible tot the lobby area, would that get a good view while being relatively convenient to the lounge area? Is there something else I should ask for instead?

That is what I request - close to the lobby

to be honest though, the farther you walk the better the view gets - but really it is nice from the concierge rooms I have had on 5 (one Kudu trail, one Zebra Trail)

This question has been asked before and I'm not sure anyone really knows at this point. But .. in case someone does ..

While we're asking questions .. I'd like to know if anyones has the scoop on the constuction that is suppose to start in 2007.

My guess on the standard thing is they are not talking about the view - but the room type.

Usually Concierge rooms are Deluxe Savanna or Deluxe Poolview rooms. I believe that Std. option would be a Standard Savanna or Poolview room.

The standard rooms are just slightly smaller, no make up mirror, maybe no automatic turndown service (but you can request this at no charge)

Anyway - that's my guess and you can look at some good room 360degree views here
