I tried to search for the answer, but didn't come up with anything, so sorry if this has been asked before.

How difficult is it to book a 2 bedroom concierge room at AKL at 11 months if one has points there?

I adore AKL concierge and am considering adding on points there for the concierge villas, but would like an idea of how difficult it is at 11 months to get that. I love the regular rooms at AKL too but am planning a special trip and wondering about concierge stays. Thanks!

If you're looking for a week long stay, it is difficult. If you trim it down to a couple nights, it's slightly easier. Club Level is a very popular room type and there aren't many available.

You may have to walk the reservation at times, but once you get the first day you've got the whole week. If you wait past the 11 month mark it will be hard to get a full week.

With only 5 two bedrooms, it will be a huge challenge and with each new AKV buyer the competition only gets greater.

As a side note IMO the DVC CL rooms have a horrible view and you can not make a room view request.

With every studio or one bedroom booked, there is one less two bedroom lockoff on the sixth floor available to book.

I wouldn't make a purchase decision on points at AKL for the sole purpose of booking their Concierge rooms repeatedly. As mentioned there are only 5 two bedroom units. Every studio or one bedroom booked takes a two bedroom out of inventory. All of the two bedroom units are lock off one bedroom / studios, so the second bedroom has 1 bed and a pull out sofa. Three of the two bedrooms do have savannah view but it is the worst savannah view on property. Very high up and partially blocked by an overhanging roof structure and you are not even guaranteed that view as you cannot request a view. The other non-savannah view is of the roof over Boma with the pool in the distance. Also, with such a small number of units, there have been multiple reports of owners being shutout even at 11 months. The only solution would be to walk a reservation as mentioned above. Sure their concierge is nice, but it certainly should not be the sole factor in deciding to buy points there as it will be difficult to book at all times, sometimes very difficult, and will pretty much always require 11+ months planning.

About 70% of the time throughout the year, AKV club level studios and 2 BRs are gone before exactly 11 months. For another 20% of the time, they are gone before 9 a.m. eastern exactly 11 months out. Mentioned above is "walking" a reservation as the solution, which means at 11 months out to book a time that starts before you actually want to go that includes your first night at the end and then call daily and drop a night at the beginning of the reservation and add a night at the end until you have what you actually want. Be aware that even that does not usually work for AKV club level studios and 2BRs because it is so difficult to find an open date when you can begin the walking process. If you want a 1BR all the time, those are usually open at exactly 11 months as long as you book early morning. In other words, unless you always want a 1BR and can book exactly 11 months out at 8 a.m. online, do not purchase AKV with the plan to usually get club level.
