AKL Club level v Boardwalk Club Level

im traveling in July back to Disney! Currently I have AKL club level booked, but can change to Boardwalk Club Level for a minimal amount. I’ve only stayed club at contemporary. Thoughts/ reviews on AKL and/or boardwalk club level? If you’ve stayed at both a comparison would be awesome! Any information/opinion helps!

(I just stayed at yacht club at the end of March and have stayed at AKL before, never boardwalk)

I'm headed to AKL as a DVC member in July. Maybe I'll see you there haha. I've never stayed club level anywhere because I have DVC, but have stayed almost everywhere...except AKL. This will be our first time. I admit that I'm a little nervous because it's out there, but if you stayed at Yatch Club and experienced that area and the nightlife, maybe give the AKL a try. We have a savanna view, so we're looking forward to it. I suppose it would depend on who you're traveling with...it's just us two and we normally like the nightlife, but we figured we'd try something different.

Hey! Thanks for the quick reply! I bet you’ll love AKL. I forgot to mention I’ve stayed there before in my original post with a savanna view. The only downside is the transportation was much slower than other deluxe resorts (but it’s not HORRIBLE like people make it out to be) Have so much fun I bet you’ll love the resort!

We're visiting family in Florida before and after our three day stay there. We will have a car, but likely will use the transportation because it's easier when I abuse my liver. I like trying the different places out especially ones I haven't before. We recently got stuck because a cancelled flight and stayed a day at the Wilderness Lodge, which I really enjoyed. Have fun and keep us updated where you end up!

I've done both. With BWI, you will get a bigger room plus, if you booked a regular CL room and not one of the cottages, you will be on the same floor and in close proximity to the CL lounge. Plus, of course, close proximity to EP and DHS. They are both lovely.

Agree with the post above! The BWI CL rooms are larger and locate on the same floor as the lounge whereas the AKL CL rooms are on the 4th floor while the lounge is on 6th.
Nothing beats the Savanna view, but by chance you may get the boardwalk view and that's really fun too.
There are reports that the AKL rooms are being renovated. You may want to check that out in case your room is right next to a construction zone.

If the price is close, I would book BWI CL.
And then I'd make a Jiko reservation.
Best of both worlds.

AKL is my favorite club level lounge, but BWI is a in a much better location. Would you consider a split stay? We love two nights at AKL club level, then moving on to a less-isolated hotel (almost always BC, though we have done BWI club level and it is a nice lounge).

Do you prefer clowns or giraffe?

Haven't slept in BWI so I can't comment on this resort, but the two resorts definitely feels very different. The AKL lounge is maybe one of the coolest on property, in that it overlooks the grand lobby of the AKL. Very cool atmosphere.

We really like BWI CL. The staff was always very helpful.

We thought the food was very good, the potato soup was a huge hit for DD and I . We loved it!

We love the BW area and find the location to be fantastic. So easy to walk to DS and EPCOT. The atmosphere and vibe is just up our alley.

Our very 1st stay at WDW was at AKL. It does hold a very special place for us. We have not been back as we like the location of the other resorts better. AKL is was too quiet for us, we like being able to walk around the other EPCOT resorts.
