AKL club level question

I have a question for anyone concerning the club level at AKL. We have used this in the past, staying in a 2br so my older mother and her SIL who lives locally and stays with us while there can use the lounge while we are at the parks with kids. They like their independence and this has been great. This time, with a bigger group I moved up to the 3 br Savannah view (we can hardly wait). Only now it occurs to me that the Club access is not offered as an option for the 3br. Does anyone know if they offer access to the 3br unit automatically as you cannot book it with club access or if I can add access for them somehow? Thanks for any suggestions,
Drew

If you are asking whether you can get club level with the Grand Villa (3BR) the answer is no, so no one will be allowed access to the lounge. The only DVC rooms that are club level are the five 2BR lock-offs (connecting studios and 1BRs) on the sixth floor above the lobby.

That is a shame, as it is just one or two 3br units and they are among the priciest on property for points or money, the option would be nice.

For points, they're nowhere close to the most expensive Grand Villas. That honor goes to the GV at VGF. In fact, the AKV Savannah GV only costs more than the GVs at OKW or Saratoga; the BLT, BWV and VGF GVs cost quite a bit more.

It might help to understand the history of the five 2BR lockoff's that make up the entirety of the DVC concierge fleet. As I understand it, DVC had to take these 5 villas in order to have the opportunity of adding the AKV options at all. It was in effect, a necessary evil. They've had other opportunities to add concierge if they wanted and felt it a good choice, such as VGF & Poly especially and coming up at Copper Creek. I doubt we'll see any more concierge but you never know.

BTW there are 6 GVs at Jambo House. I cannot see them making an exception to the Club Level rules for the Jambo House GVs because that would add another 72 guests to the CL Lounge since a GV can sleep 12 guests.

Plus they would have to raise the point cost per night for Jambo House GVs because it costs more per night in club level room than in a regular room. For a 2BR that is 10-15 points more per night.

That makes sense, I did not realize they had 6 units, I had thought only a couple. My thought was offering the option of more points to book with GV reservation would not be an option most would take but some might. I have stayed in the 2br club level in the past, so I know space might become an issue if all the GV folks took the option.

Based on how point allocation and sale works, they can't offer rooms on a sliding point scale (if you want CL, add X points). It must be AC or DC.

They could offer a pay to play option if they wanted and they could allow payment through points though I think it's unlikely for either.
