I would like to book a club level room for AKL for our trip next May. There are none coming up online. Are some of the club level rooms closed for the construction?

I know there are fewer club level rooms due to some being taken for DVC. You can't always trust the on line site, so if it shows you something a little off, I'd call and talk to a live person instead.

All of the former club level rooms at AK are being converted to villas. Now club level rooms as opposed to villas are standard size rather than deluxe. From what I've read on the DIS, the rooms are located on the 4th floor. The lounge is on the 6th floor along with the club floor villas.

We do have a club level villa reserved for May. I agree with Tammi that the site has not always been accurate. It might be worth your while to make a call.

Oh, and the interior construction is ahead of schedule according to reports so there probably won't be any inside the lodge itself by May. The construction of Kidani Village which is a whole new building will be ongoing.

I have been hearing the same thing, but I noticed that the wdwinfo.com site has some different information. They have the new 2008 rates listed and this is shown under the AKL:

Deluxe Room Club Level (5)
Weekday $445 $505 $570 $655
Weekend $590 $675
MLK $465
Pres. Day $600
Easter $590
July 4 $525
Thanksgiving $525

I don't know where their information comes from, but it looks like there may be some deluxe club level rooms still left to book. I know they won't be on the top floors, but maybe they've just re-coded some of the previous deluxe rooms?

Very interesting, Tammi. I wonder if there are some odd rooms somewhere on the lower floors that are larger? Can't think where though as you can see the extra room on the 5th floor rooms as the balconies stick out further.

Or perhaps some of the 5th floor rooms will not be converted to villas? The info from DVC seems to indicate it's all of 5th and 6th.

Or maybe the website is wrong. Is there also standard club level listed with occupancy of 4? If both types are listed, I guess we have a mystery and will have to wait for people's experiences.

There is a DVCer, Lisa, who is to AKV as you are to the GF. If that expert sees this, she may know the answer.

Yes, there is a "Standard room club level (4)" and a "Deluxe savannah view bunk bed (5)" category listed as well.

I want a club level to do the sunrise safari. There are only two of us, me and my grandson, so I don't want a deluxe room for the whole trip. If I can snag one for part of the trip in order to do the sarari then I will do that. Are there savannah, club level? My grandson's number one priority is savannah view. That's a must. The rest is added magic.

It's my understanding that all the standard club level rooms are savannah. Hopefully someone can confirm that.
