AKL Club Concierge

This may sound like a stupid question but what are the benefits of staying concierge at AKL. I have never stayed concierge before and I was wondering what is the difference?

We've only stayed at AKL concierge once and it was 5+ years but we loved it so much we are going back in August! I'll do my best to describe it although I'm sure someone more experienced can chime in as well.

It has the standard amenities that all Disney concierge has: help with ressies, food and beverage service throughout the day, turn down service and a private lounge to relax in when you're tired of your room. We've stayed at concierge at BWI, GF and Grand CA in Anaheim and we think AKL was by far the best. I know CMs working during your stay make a big difference, but the food was also best at AKL concierge. We love the morning smoothies and the self-serve espresso machine. AKL concierge guest also have access to the Sunrise Safari and Breakfast. We didn't do this last trip because the days it was offered didn't work out for us but we won't miss it this time. Also, with the recent construction of the AKL Villas all concierge rooms now have a savannah view (we triple checked this with guest services).

One drawback, also related to the construction, is that the concierge rooms are now on the 4th floor while the lounge is still on the sixth. This isn't huge for us, but it may be a concern to you.

I can't think of anything else. Please, someone else jump in! I also understand there is a Sunset Safari but this isn't necessarily reserved for concierge guests only and since I do not know much about it I won't try to explain it.

we haven't been at the AKL concierge in several years, but very much enjoyed it when we did...
they have a wonderful selection for breakfast....one of the nicest breakfast selections of any of the concierge lounges in any of the WDW resorts..

but the reason we did it at that time was specifically for the sunrise safari, which was excellent!!! only concierge guests can sign up for the sunrise safari and it is well worth it...

we had the big guy himself - can't remember his name...the guy who worked for 20 years at the san diego zoo and was brought to the AK and AKL to design the savanah ....the guy was sooooooooooooo interesting.....he's the one that has that huge feather thing in his ear....or used to....can't remember his name...

it was an outstanding tour!!!!!

Thanks for that!! We're contemplating splitting our stay with the CR...and wondered if we could request a Savannah view since there are actually 3 Concierge views. We would only want to stay Concierge with the view of the animals!!

I booked AKL concierge and for February and June, and was told that the concierge rooms are savannah views. So, you're saying they're not ALL savannah? I'll still keep my reservations either way, but I sure hope they're savannah views.

Just started looking at info on AKL today....you think I could find where I read about the three views of Concierge???? Nope!! Ugh!!! I hate it when that happens!! LOL!!!

Will be discussing the idea this evening w/ DH as to whether or not we should try out the AKL (concierge, too). Sounds like a great idea!! If I call Disney tonight I will get the info and then let you know what they say!!!
