We are stuck and can't decide!

Which resort has the better CL?

Who has the better pool and slide?

Which resort would be better for an 8 and 4 year old?

AKL has the Savannah rooms, do the WL CL rooms all have great views?

Which resort has better activites?

I know that AKL has Simba's Clubhouse, is there a child care option at WL?

I know that the WL rooms were recently renovated, how long ago where the rooms at AKL done?

Any help you can offer will be greatly appriciated!;)

honestly Im a BIG WL fan but i think your kids ages are perfect for AKL.

If i was a kid thats where id want to go....except if i was afraid of animals !!!! I think AKL probably has the better pool(larger)

BUT with all that said if you are going to MK alot WL is the better choice. If any meltdowns happen its a quick trip back to WL. AKL has limited transpo.

I tried to get us 4 adults(2 college kids) to go to AKL this time but they all agreed they didnt want the only transpo to be buses or taxi.
WL gives easy access to MONORAIL resorts and Transpo on the mono. Boats to CR, MK, FT wilderness gives you so many more options to get around.

jealous of CL... never could swing it w/ kids in college etc etc etc......

I have heard so so reports of some rooms at WL CL but really after you see a view a couple times its not as cool as the first time. Plus easy access to FT WIlderness camping area that has some fun activities and Horses to ride at certain times.

We haven't done AKL CL, but I can't recommend WL CL enough!!! It is fantastic!! We spent 10 nights there last month and we had the time of our lives. The CL CM's are wonderful. So friendly and helpful, really great with kids. My DD8 took a liking to the cookies available in the lounge (I'm pretty sure she ate her weight in them :rotfl2: ) and when we were checking out, Randy, the CL mgr stopped us and told us to hold on...he ran out back and came back with like 10 cookies all wrapped up in Saran wrap for the trip home. Just above and beyond in thoughtfulness.

We were in room 7042, which was brand new. It's in the north wing and we had a wonderful view of Cinderella Castle and Wishes!!! (there's an even better view just around the corner past the Yellowstone suite) :thumbsup2

Plus, the boat to MK was a nice option other than the bus (which we didn't mind either) and you have the boat to CR which gives you quick access to the monorail - awesome!!!

It was hard not to book WL CL again after our experience but we want to try all of the resorts so we are Poly CL next trip! I hope it lives up to the precedent set by WL! ::yes::

ETA: my 5 and 8 year old have no interest in staying at AKL, especially since you're not allowed to have balloons!!! :rotfl:

We did Poly CL in Feb, and wouldn't hesitate to do it again, but the Hawaii building will be shut down while we are there. We booked a garden view room and they gave us a lagoon view! We were hooked! I had no idea that you could see Wishes from some of the rooms! That's awesome!

What were the CL food offerings like? Anything too exotic? That is what is pushing me away from AKL, I don't have very adventerous taste buds.

Good to hear that about Poly CL!! It is closed Jan/Feb for the Hawaii building refurb, so we are looking forward to a nice new room in April! :goodvibes

The food was great! I was a little worried after reading the menu...lots of hunter foods. :rotfl:
We had BBQ chicken skewers one night along with venison chili, venison meatballs, scallops wrapped in bacon :cloud9:

I had never had venison before but it was delicious!!! ::yes::

How were the offerings at Poly CL???

So yummy! They had sushi, chicken wings, cold soups, salads, fruit, cheese....just tons of great food! The desserts were fantastic! You will love it!

We did AKL CL with a 6 and 2 year old last June. LOVED IT!!!! The girls sat on the balcony to watch animals anytime we were in the room and only asked in 5 days once to watch tv. That in itself was worth every penny!

The lounge was great too! They cater to the kiddos very well. The food was kid friendly. For breakfast, cereals, yogurt, fruit, bagels, croissants, juice, chocolate milk. The afternoon snack was usually cookies, brownies, gummy bears, goldfish. In the afternoon they also set up two Wii's, and my 6 year old loved playing it and made friends and played the games with them while the 2 year old napped in the room with dh. The evening fare they had kid friendly food too. Ham & cheese rollups, carrots, cucumbers, ranch dressing, cheese pizza, quite good stuff. The lounge also has a tv set up where they show movies for the kids and sometimes a lady came with crafts for the kids while the parents ate their food and drank. The fridge has an endless supply of chocolate milk, sodas, juices and for the grownups beer. =) The evening desserts are plentiful as well.

The lounge also had a coloring contest one night where they would pick one "winner". Of course every kid was a winner and when we got back to the room there was a goody bag for each kid filled with stickers and stamps. Perfect for our drive home. Another neat thing was the first day we were in our room a lady stopped by with chocolate giraffe and flamingo suckers for each of us. Kids loved that. Another nice thing, was one day my 2 year old was super cranky after a nap and she was in prime fit form when we were at the lounge. One of the workers came up to us and gave my 2 year old a small stuffed zebra and my 6 year old a small stuffed lion. My 2 year old can not go to bed without her zebra every night now.

The only downside to AKL is that the room was far from the lounge. No one ever really complained and the way the halls are set up, there is a set of 10 rooms and then a bay of windows to look at the animals, 10 rooms, bay of windows. My girls thought it was fun to run down the hall and then stop at the windows to look for animals. By the time we caught up, they would take off.

I can't wait until we go back to AKL. I can't even imagine staying anywhere else at WDW! We were spoiled! Have a great trip!

I know my boys would love the animals! Good to know that they have a lot of food that would work for my wee ones. Thanks so much for the insight!
