We'll be staying at AKL and will probably not leave the World.

What are the benefits of driving between parks/resorts and taking the Disney transportation everywhere? Which will be faster or more convenient? Which will be less walking for us? That's a big consideration.

we stayed at akl 2 years ago in april and found the bus transportation to be excellent. we never waited more than 10 mins for the bus to arrive and most of the park bus stops are located quite close to the gates (epcot being the longest walk). we usually rent a car however as we like to visit at least 2 other resorts for dinner, and getting to another resort requires taking a bus to a park that is still open or downtown disney and switching buses. we also drive to dd because bus service from all resorts has never been kind to us there!! hope this helped!! ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

I have heard that the bus transportation from AKL is very good, but have only driven. It didn't take long to get to any of the parks from AKL with a car.

People always say that you should take the bus to MK even if you have a car because that way you can avoid taking the monorail or ferry from the parking lot at the TTC and save time. We left at 8:15 to get to the MK and even with taking the monorail, were through the bag check area by 8:45. I would think with waiting around for the bus to come in the morning, the bus wouldn't really save much time over driving yourself.

Since the buses drop you off near the entrances of the park and at the entrance of AKL, I don't know that riding a bus would mean more walking, but it might mean more standing if you don't get a seat.

At the end of the day when we were all tired, it was nice to just take the tram to the parking lot and get in our car and go instead of standing in a bus line for 30 minutes and then taking the chance of having to stand on the bus.
