If you've stayed in one of the rooms with the bunk beds how did you like them? Are the bunk beds big enough for adult sized teens? Thanks!

I just read a post with same question last night. The two answers that stayed with me are

Bunk beds are size of a twin bed and it might be small for an adult unless the are curl up to sleep type (or short like me ;) )

Some people thought the rooms were a little dark because the bunks block one light fixture. Others said there room was not dark, so it may be more which way your room faces and what time of day it is...

I just booked one of these rooms with the Visa code!

I also booked one this morn for our April trip. We've never stayed in the bunk bed rooms, do they have 2 queens or just 1 in addition to the bunks??

I thought the CM said 2 queens, but I wasn't sure. I was more concerned in getting the discount this morn at 7 am!

Bunk bed rooms have one queen and a bunk bed. Deluxe rooms w/ bunk beds would also have a day bed.
I have a standard savanna-view room booked for April and REQUESTED bunk beds but they are not guaranteed. The CM suggested the bunks, as I'm travelling w/ 2 children.

We have also booked a room at the AKL with the VISA discount. I believe that the bunk bed rooms have a queen and the bunk beds. If it is a deluxe room, it may also have a day bed. But none of the rooms have 2 queen beds and the bunk beds.
When I changed my reservation from the AAA discount to the VISA discount I saved almost 600$. I am not sure who was more excited, me or the CM I was talking to. She really seemed as happy as I was.:bounce: :bounce:

I'm wondering, do you feel like you're in a larger room with more floor space when you have bunk beds, since one set on bunk beds takes up less space than another queen?

We had the bunk beds on our stay last June. There was one queen bed and a set of bunks. My 2 DDs were 15 and 13 at the time and they fit just fine on it. My 15 YO (who is 16 now) is actually taller than me at 5'4".

We lucked out and got a bunk bed room last year. Did not seem to make the room appear as large as you may think. My daughter (8) though wants you to know that the top bunk is very hard and not comfortable. For our upcming trip in May she prefers to share a bed with her sister (little sis is only 5, so too young to sleep on the top bunk).

I also didn't think it made the room appear any larger.

We just stayed there a few weeks ago and we always request bunk beds and so far we have always got them. My kids are turning 5 in April and love sleeping on them. The top bunk has bed rails and my kids do just fine with them.
