Well we decided to make another crack at the world after our sickness trip in May. This time it was a very extended travel party, 12 people total. We had 3 rooms booked at AKL, 2 standard view rooms, and one deluxe. We had booked the deluxe room as my room, as we needed the bed for the 5th person. I had faxed prior to arrival and noted our late arrival midnight. Well we had a wild day I will never take a night flight again! I had figured my almost 3 year old twins would sleep so we kept them up, But, It backfired and they were so overtired they did not sleep. Which made for a loooong flight. So off to the AKL first my absolute fave resort. Now let me say 4 members of my extended party are not Disney people in any capacity they also have not been in 4 years. I was really looking to make thier experience magical. This particular Aunt also has cancer and has been in remisson and just recently has had a reoccurance. Up until the last moment I was not sure we would get her on the plane. But we did and fingers were crossed she would be well enough to enjoy the week before she starts chemo next week. I had booked thier trip and really pushed it for the sake of thier kids so the pressure was on me. So theres some background.... thats kind of key to the story! Ok! we arrive at AKL, seperately 2 rental cars one stop at MC Donalds (me) they did not. as such they arrived first. I am not real sure what transpired at the desk but, there was a collossol mixup. The CM put them in my pool view deluxe, considerably more money than the 123.00 standard view she was booked for. ( she is up in the room has no clue) I show up and they have me in the standard view, Huh? here is my confirmation heres what I paid booked.... The unmagical castmember says, wait that has been changed to a differant name, And they are in that room. I say changed by who? he says another CM. I t seems my Aunt thought hers would be on the seperate number so the guy actually changed out names across the board. Now the CM says Well they are in the room do you want me to wake her, well she has been here 2 minutes so, yes... she will not be a happy camper being presented with that bill. So he calls tells her she has to come check out of that room as he made a mistake, Down she comes she is not happy, her magic is ebbing....... Well after much consternation he tells her she can stay in that room. I have now been at this desk 40 minutes, Its 1am. He now drops the bomb. Yes, I reserved deluxe with the 5th person bed, but they have all been given away.What???? SO I say well can I upgrae to Savannah view deluxe with conceirge(SP) He says yes, for 60 more per night but this is what your choices are no matter what level I put you in. 1 king room with day bed savanah view. NS. 1 2 queens smoking. Thats it, no bunks anywhere, no 5th bed. It was bizzarre. So I say well We have 5 people here thats why I booked a deluxe????? So I have an air mattress in the car for Boardwalk villas. I guess I am going to have to go get that. Lucky for me I had one. After all this and 1 hour he still charges me for my upgrade and no apology, It was all just bizarre, 1 hour plus at the counter with 2 toddlers at now 1 thirty am. so we retrieve the mattress and off we go to th king room. SIL on the twin day bed, me and twin ds's almost 3 in the king, DS 9 on the air mattress it was the Clampetts at AKL! All we needed now was to wash our undies and hang em from the balcony! So its now close to 2am. we inflate the air mattress and put ds 9 to bed, we all get in bed its real quiet, and I hear I hissing really loud, The air bed is deflating....I say oh no its got a leak. My Sil who is really tired and *****y says Are you sure? I at this point am laughing its so absurd and I say well It is AKL unless there is a really big snake in here...hissing I would have to say so, Now we are all laughing hysterically I actually have a patch so we patch it and go to bed 2 thirty. Next thing I know the 9 year old gets up and runs across the room I look at the clock its 4:14 am, I figure he is going to the bathroom, I look at the clock 4:20. Now I get nervous he is still in the bathroom maybe he is sick? So I get up to check and the hall door is ajar and he is gone!!!!! I go running out look left, Look right, he's gone.........
