AKL BEST VIEW FOR ANIMALS

Never been to AKL so looking for the pros and cons of the different resorts there. What resort and view should I book in hopes to see the animals? Which is better and more convenient for pool and quick serve. 2 adults and a 6 and 8 yr. old Thank you

To have the best chance of seeing animals, you need to book Savanna View.

I phrase it that way because they are free-range (to a degree) and choose where to go and when to go there within their allowed range of movement.

We prefer Jambo over Kidani. As PP noted, you need to book a Savanna View room. Room category is your preference.

The Mara is in Jambo with Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner quick service. Also has Boma (buffet) and Jiko (table service) restaurant. Kidani has Sanaa which is quick service breakfast and table service lunch and dinner.

Both have solid pools. Kidani has epic splash pad. You can access both pools and restaurants regardless of which you book.

We love Jambo over Kidani just for the fact that everything is there at Jambo, both places have areas where you can view the Animals but we always get a Savannah view room, my wife loves just sitting on the verandah watching the view for basically hours !! A lot of times she will meet us later in the day at whatever park we’re at so she can just relax and view the surroundings

Great timing on this thread, I have lots of the same questions! I’ll add one too, are there any overwhelming smells with Savanah view? I’ve never expired any visiting AK, so just wondered.

The best time and place to see the Animals is starting around Dinner time 5PM in the main viewing area. There are no smells and smile as you are ALWAYS on camera on your balcony... closely on the Savannah side to protect the animals. If you are in your room a lot you will always see something from birds to Giraffe but mostly birds and a few smaller animals. The animals are in fact fed on each part of the Savannah which is the time you will see the most. Ask a guide and they should have the time. There are other things that happen based on weather and normal movement all day and night..... But by Best time it is when they are fed.... Sit on your Balcony for 3 hours you may see little or something amazing as well as looking out at 3am or in the first 3 minutes of sitting outside otherwise as above ask..... Always still a great view even with few animals.
