I have just tried to price a holiday for next year with 10 nights at the AKL starting on the 17th of August. The only option it comes up with is the Savannah Room which is £500 more expensive. I didn't want to pay extra and just wanted a standard room. Surely the standards can't be all booked up already? :confused3

I'm having a 3 week vacation in Orlando and getting married there so all the extra costs add up. I just can't justify spending an extra £500 for a room view when I'll hardly be there anyway.

Does anyone think that if I call to book I may get a different response? I don't want to go through a Travel Agent as all the brochure prices are much more expensive than doing it independently. Plus I want free dining!

Anyone else had this problem yet?

Are you trying to book through Disney online in the UK? I am getting Standard View rooms through the US website - $2418.80 for your dates.

It is quite possible that they will be "booked up" already. The travel agents reserve blocks of rooms, so that technically they may not be booked up but will show as unavailable.

BA Holidays are showing AKL for your dates as £1200 (approx $2185).

Ideally I would like to go through Disney Uk site as if I book everything seperately I won't get free dining.

Thing is my booking is complicated :guilty:

I obviously want the most out of my money, here is my booking so far:

2 nights Wilderness Lodge
10 nights Animal Kingdom Lodge
5 nights Royal Plaza DTD
4 nights Crowne Plaza Universal

AND a Disney Wedding to be booked :bride:

I have so many hotels as I wanted a seperate hotel for my Wedding/Honeymoon but I wanted to be in Disney for the majority of the time. My fiance wanted accomodation in DTD and Universal because Universal are his favourite parks. We also intend to do Seaworld, Busch Gardens and Discovery Cove, quite possibly others if we can squeeze it in. This doesn't include all the shopping and other fun stuff to do in Orlando :Pinkbounc

We don't drive so needed hotels with transport or good access. I think I should maybe try and get a quote from a Travel Agent, but it is embarrassing as I have so many requests. I've a feeling they will think I'm NUTS :guilty:

Most brochure prices are more expensive and the Disney Wedding in the Virgin brochure certainly is, £400 more, to be exact!

I don't know what I should do now :confused3

Yeah but Disney Uk, Virgin and Thomas Cook, (I'm sure there are others) do free dining while on a Disney resort. I can't see that on the BA site.

When I booked BA we not showing the DDP on their website (Virgin were charging £27 per head at the time). I rang and booked directly with BA (British call centre as well). I would imagine that as Disney are offering free DDP for that period that BA would be offering it as well. Always worth giving them a call to find out.

I assume you know you have to buy a package (i.e. hotel room plus tickets) to get the free Dining Plan?

It's got to be worth calling (0870 24 24 900) and trying for a standard room.

Or, why not try Dreams Unlimited (the DIS Travel Agency)? They have agents in the UK, so I don't see why they couldn't book this package for you. It won't cost any more than booking it yourself and they can just deal with this aspect (or all your Disney bookings if you prefer), leaving you to book everything else yourself.

Do they take bookings for Brits, or is it just people in the States? Just wondering cause all the prices are in dollars.

They take bookings for anyone. Usually the prices will be in $, but as this offer is only available to those in the UK, I would have thought it would be priced in £.

We booked one week at AKL and the following week at Wilderness lodge but had to pay for the dinin gplan...is there a suggestion you can gte this free?

We booked everything in cluding park tickets via Thomas Cook signature

The Dining Plan is only free if you book before November 6th 2005, for travel between Aug12th 2006 to Sep 29th 2006, I think, don't quote me tho. It saves loads tho, when you think about how much of your spending money goes on food. :thumbsup2

If you're travelling between these dates, I would ask Thomas Cook Sig if they can adjust your booking :goodvibes

many thanks Summer-Caitlin. We are booked to go April/May 2007 so it looks like we will have to pay!
