AKL -- anyone been in the last week?

We are staying in a 1 BR Jambo House Savannah unit at the end of March. I just read that from January 15 - May 1, a part of the savannah will not have any animals. I confirmed this with DVC and the agent told me that this will only affect a small number of rooms in Jambo House. They will reimburse those people affected the diff. in points between a SAV and Non-SAV view.

Our whole reason for booking here is for the animal viewing.

Not sure if I should look into changing resorts or just hope for the best.

There will still be public animal viewing areas (and hallways have windows on both sides, so you should still see some animals on the way into or our of your room)
If you do get one of the "no-animal rooms", you will get a point refund to the equivilent standard view rate. You will still see the Savannah landscaping in the no-animal rooms, and probably still see/hear some construction (I had a Savannah and construction view this fall, but because I knew that possibility from reading here, I was prepared, and enjoyed tracking the construction progress)

The no-animal period should last for a shorter period than stated, but they had to build-in a buffer "just in case" it took longer.

Personally, if you think getting a "no animal" room will likely ruin your trip, then please try to switch resorts, it is just not worth the fustration.
