AKL animal viewing

We are planning a day to spend out of the parks to enjoy the AKL.

Also plan on going for a late breakfast to Chef Mickey's and shopping at Downtown Disney.

What is prime animal viewing times at the AKL from a Savannah room or from any of the viewing areas around the resort?

I'd have to say morning or early evening - when the sun starts to set. But really any time of day can be good - the animals move around and you never know who you'll see.

In the early (like 7am) morning during the first feeding is best - the animals like to follow the food truck around.

Remember there are 3 savanahs - be sure to check out all three!

Are you staying there? When I stayed, I always seemed to find a reason to go back to the room - and ended up watching the animals eat and walk - doesn't sound exciting - but I thought it was great! We weren't alone.

The animals can be seen at all times of the day and night. Early morning is a great time, but we saw animals at all hours. I even found myself on our balcony more than once in the middle of the night. Sooo peaceful and the lighting is wonderful! Every time we tried to leave the room I would look out the window and see yet another animal and run to the balcony. It got so my kids were dragging me out at times! LOL!!

Thanks for the info.
We stayed here in a Savannah view room in January, however it seemed like we could only see animals in the early morning.

Then by the time we got back in the afternoon from the parks, the viewing wasn't that good.

We were on Zebra trail, looking out at Arusha Rock, fairly close to the lobby. Maybe there are better views?

I just want to really enjoy the animals this time. We were a bit too busy in January. We return in December so even though I've stayed at the hotel, I don't feel like a "pro" yet.
