AKL animal question

I just spent 2 nights at Kidani on 2nd floor all the way at the end (almost). Was on the left side walking from the lobby (7671). At first I hated it because it was so far and on the side of the road. But in no time at all I found the animals fascinating (2 ostriches, 3 impalas, 2 ancole cattle, 2 zebra and some other antilope). I got up a couple of times in the middle of the night and some combination of them was always out (except when the keepers were out). I was right by the barn so I saw giraffes too in the early am. Are these animals free to go in and out as they please? I would stay in this room again in a heartbeat.

Yes, the animals are free to go in and out as they want. Each species has its own signal, however, for the keepers to call them in for daily checks, so they're usually not all out all day long.
