Are you able to view the animals if you dine at AKL?I am talking post-covid times. If so, is there a particular restaurant you recommend?

The only restaurant with a possible view of animals is Sanaa at Kidani. The restaurant has windows that look on the Savannah, and so the tables right by the window will have a view. Tables farther from the window may have a glimpse, and some of the tables really offer no view at all. The only restaurant currently open at Jambo is Mara, and only for breakfast. There is no view there. The other restaurants at Jambo are not yet open, and do not offer a view of animals. However, there are so many great view areas around both Kidani and Jambo that you should not let that sway you from having a meal there.

Thanks so much. We are planning a trip with my parents in fall of 2022 (far enough away that hopefully everytrhing is back to "normal".) I thought an AKL dinner would be a nice treat for my parents.

And Sanaa only has a view at lunchtime as it is really dark outside during dinner

Are you able to dine there and then go see the animals or only view the animals at the restaurant. Thanks!

Yes, there are animal viewing areas at both Jambo and Kidani, so if you don't need to see animals while you are actually eating, you could choose any restaurant at AKL (Sanaa, Boma, Jiko, Mara) and then go see the animals at the viewing area.

There are many places to view the animals in both Kidani and Jambo. On the second floor of Kidani, this is the level where the lobby is, there are seating areas with the windows overlooking the Savannah, on the first floor, where the restaurant is, there is an outdoor area for viewing. On the Jambo side, on the second floor, where the lobby is, there is a viewing area of the sunset Savannah, and then on the first floor there’s an outdoor area that overlooks the Arusha Savannah

We always have dinner at Boma on every trip and visit the animal areas beforehand. They were the best buffet on property a nice variety of African fare plus plainer stuff as well. Hope they reopen and it is just as good as before.

oh there are plenty of spots at ground level to observe. There may even be a CM with binoculars ( including night vision ones!) around to impart wisdom.
