Myself and I have been to WDW and stayed at the POLY 5 times and CBR 4 times. But in 7 weeks we are staying AKL Concerige. We are excited but have reservations about the transportation. DW thinks that the remote location will make us enjoy the resort more than running to parks all day. Does anyone have pictures of the conceige lounge and bus stops? I have read somewhere that there are multiple bus stop for the various parks. Where would you recommend requesting a concerige room close to the lounge and bus stop? I also heard there are 2 ways to get to the buses. Thanks for all the help.

I don't have pics. However, you can see pics @ www.allearsnet.com.

AKL has 1 bus stop. There are 2 ways to get to it: Through the main entrance, or a slight short cut through the gift shop.

The buses to and from AKL are wonderful...no stops (exception is the water parks on the way to the parks)

We have found AKL to be a very relaxing resort. Sort of a vacation from the vacation. :rotfl2: :rotfl: I think you will absolutely adore it.

We stayed in concierge last Jan. We belong to DVC and stayed there. We did love the snacks from Boma in concierge but the buses are sooooo slow. We waited along time for any of them to come and by the third day started to use the car..... I thought my husband would love the place being an animal lover but he preferred the first part of our trip at BW better. That being said I did buy points there also so I could reserve the concierge rooms at 11 months.

I'm staying at AK for the first time in September. I'm a littler nervous because it's never been on my list of top choices due to the location. It's a good time to try it out though because I'll have no kids with me so the bus ride won't seem so long.

We loved AKL! We had very good bus service and it didn't seem to take any longer to get places than when we stayed at WL.

We are staying there for the first time in January and our first time at WDW. I am very excited but also nervous that we made the right decision. However, we are hopeful for a good time.

OK, do yourself and you go together or separately????:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I think your husband is correct. You will appreciate the resort more.
I just love the relaxing feel of the place. I look forward to getting back there in the evenings.
Don't forget to try Jiko, and the filet if you enjoy beef.:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Have a great time!:cool1:

I have stayed at AKL several times, but not yet concierge. My understanding is that the old deluxe rooms which were on the same floor as concierge lounge are now DVC rooms, and that other folks staying concierge may be on different floors from the lounge. As far as being near the bus stop, both time I stayed our rooo was near the lobby, which is basically close to bus stop. If you were in a room further out, then you'd be further away from bus stop. The rooms which are closest to the bus stop are going to be pool view and 'standard' view (i.e. parking lot view).

I can't tell from your post if you think it is good or bad thing to spend more time at the resort. I will say this, if you WANT to spend more time at the resort, it is beautiful, and they do have several nice activities. The story hour at night by the campfire is very worthwhile!

If you are eager to hit the parks, the transportation is very good. While it is pysically located a bit of a ways from three of the parks (very close to AK) - the buses only make one stop - at AKL. At most deluxe resorts, buses to at least one park are often shared. For example, sometimes buses to MK are shared between Swan/Dolphin/BC/YC/BWK. If you come and go during peak times, most resorts lines run directly to the parks. The frequency of buses at AKL has always been very good. but perception of the bus transporation will depend somewhat on folks' touring style and which parks they like to frequent the most. If you want to spend every day at MK, then AKL won't seem as good as Poly. if you spend every night diining in Epcot, then AKL won't seems as close as BC.

I can almost guarentee you'll find AKL's buses better than CBR's. We hated all the stops at CBR!

:cool1: We're going in Sept and I'm actually getting excited even though I was somewhat hesitant to book AKL :cool1:
