I was wondering about the princess breakfast at Epcot? Anyone have any comments on it? Food? Character interaction? Thanks for the help. :goodvibes

If you have little girls like I do, then Akershus is for you. We went there last Friday. Belle greeted us near the front door and she was wearing her gold dress. We were seated near the door where the princesses enter the room so we were the third table greeted. The princesses came out about every two minutes after we sat down. The followed the same pattern as they went from table to table. I believe they really make every effort possible to meet every table.

We had the dining plan and the dinner itself was our least favorite of the week. They had a cold buffet that had various salads, fruits, peel and eat shrimp, and (pickled, creamed and somethine else) herring. There were only about 5 or 7 entrees to choose from. My wife had some pasta in pesto sauce served under a breast of chicken. She liked it. I did not want pasta so I had their meatloaf. I generally regard meatloaf as an uninteresting dish and this was no exception. None of the other entrees appealed to me either.

The kids had their old standby - chicken fingers and fries. They were happy with their meals. I'm just a little disappointed that the most appealing meal to me that night was uninspiring meatloaf.

Thats all I can say. We did the breakfast in October and had an ADR for 10:35. That was our first mistake. We had pics done with Aurora at the entrance and then we were seated and finished our brekkie....it was ok...not very interesting. At the end of our breakfast we asked our server about the other princesses and he said he would send some over. We then got Jasmine and Belle and were then told that Snowwhite and Mulan had to go over to France for autographs and that we could catch up with them there. Well I didn't just pay 22 bucks for some cinnamon buns and some scrambled eggs...I was there for the princess experience! So needless to say I was disappointed. We did it for my DD and I am glad to say that we tried it but if I was ever to do it again(and I won't) I would say not to go so late into the meal.

Thanks everyone. Anyone else want to share their experience. I love character meals and want to skip CRT this time for several reasons, so this sounded like a good alternative. Now I don't know................

We have been twice and both times went later in the breakfast period (10:30ish) and we enjoyed ourselves very much. My family loves the cinnamon rolls that are served (the only reason my middle DS will consent to being there) and we found the character interaction to be adequate. My DD was in heaven meeting her 'friends' so that alone made it worth it! I did notice one of the times we had to ask (and wait a while) for refills on food as they were getting ready to finish breakfast service and move to lunch. In fact as we were leaving they were getting ready to seat for lunch.

We have never done CRT with Cinderella but we did do 1900 Park Fare with Cinderella and DD loved that again-especially liked meeting "bippity boppity boo" (Fairy Godmother). I would say I enjoyed 1900 dinner better than Akershus breakfast but DD would be hard pressed to pick one over the other.

We were there last week and we loved it. Our reservation was at 10:00. Belle was in the front wearing her yellow dress. We bought the pictures that they took, of course, but you can take your own too and not buy the ones they offer. Breakfast was brought out. The cinnamon rolls were OK, not great, but everything else was really good. Eggs, potatoes, bacon, sausage were all very yummy and there was fruit as well. Plenty of food and it was hot and tasty, but nothing spectacular (like the french toast at CRT - yum!). The interaction was excellent. We saw Aurora, Snow, Mulan and Jasmine. Now, it was raining so I think some people didn't show up because the restaurant was not full, but the princesses spent a lot of time with dd.

So, I think that everyone has different experiences and you might just have to go and see for yourself, but I totally understand about not doing CRT and I think this is a good alternative. The 1900 Park Fare is EXCELLENT though if you decide not to do PSB.

Thank you everyone. I love getting everyones feedback. Sounds like getting there before 10 might be good so we don't fall in the breakfast/lunch hole. Thanks. :goodvibes

We also did the breakfast last Friday at the 9:50 seating. We sat near the door where the princess's came out. My four year old yelled out to each one when they came out. Both of my daughters were very excited. The princess's did a great job of spending some time at each table.
The girl that played Auroa was Cinderella at 1900 park fare on Monday night. She remembered my daughters and made a comment about it. She told my daughters that she is a close friend of Cindy's and she told her about meeting them on Monday for dinner. Their little faces were all smiles at that one.

We had a 8:30am res. the restuarant was full but every princess came to our table. It was just my 2 yr old daughter and I (my boys would have been horrified to be there! :rotfl2: ). We saw, Belle in blue not her yellow gown, Mulan, Jasmine (the husbands seemed to enjoy her the most :rotfl2: ), Snow White, and Mary Poppins. Mary was great, we saw her later in Great Britian and she remembered my shy little girl and walked hand and hand w/ her to introduce her to her "friends" (Pooh, Tigger and Eeyore). Lets just say my boys were impressed w/ their little sisters clout! The food was fine, I found it simple fare, but appreciated it since eating at Ohanas, Kona, Alfredo's was all so much, the fruit and eggs were fresh and hit the spot. We skipped the potatoes, rolls and sausage. They repleneshed our food when it ran low and all in all I found it a good character interaction. HOpe this helped.

We did the lunch there last week, on 12/9. It was nice, the "cold table" was awesome. DH stuffed himself and had to take his sandwich back to the hotel, LOL. The princesses were great about walking around and greeting everyone & doing autographs and photos. We all enjoyed ourselves!

Thanks everyone. You all have been very helpful. What I mostly want from this meal is character interaction and the food is second in this case. Sounds like we might like it for that. Thanks again. :goodvibes
