Hmm, you are right. It certainly isn't a buffet. My understanding of the menu is that you get any of your choice of entree and dessert and beverage is included. Does that make more sense?

Please accept my apologies for any confusion.

ETA: Looking at the lunch menu though it is a bit confusing. Better ignore me for now, it seems my advice is out of date.

Check out allears.net for menus. I enjoyed Akershus. The meal begins with the salad bar which has the usual salad bar offerings plus a few more substantial foods (cheeses, cold cuts, herring, shrimp). You order a main course which is brought to your table and then a dessert sampler is delivered to the table---gotta try the rice cream It's lovely!

We went for dinner in October. Met Belle out front for a very quick autograph and photo (still included in the package).

Starters are serve yourself. Shrimp, smoked salmon, lots of fruit, salads, asparagus, bread etc.

Main courses as detailed above. Pasta for me was fine. Everyone enjoyed their main meal but didn't 'love' it. Preferred starter and dessert.

Princesses visiting table included Cinderella, Ariel, Sleeping Beauty and Snow White.

Dessert served 'family style' comes on one plate with rice cream (more like white lumpy custard with jam on top, very creamy not like cold rice pud at all) a chocolate cake which was more like a chocolate mousse and an open apple tart. Came with a small blob of ice-cream but we didn't have any problem getting more ice-cream for our picky DD. (She couldn't eat any off the main meal as it had been 'contaminated' by puddings!!!!)

The usual soft drinks and coffee/hot tea included. I always have diet coke and coffee. Again plentiful.

Would highly recommend it although we prefer the food at breakfast.

DD is currently spending the year as a Cultural Rep for Disney working as a waitress at the Rose and Crown. She and her friends are in the process of 'eating' their way round the world and ate at Akesrhus last week - said it was the best meal they had had so far! Even better than Le Cellier which she also loved. Can't remember the exact details of her meal, but I'm positive part of it, if not all of it was buffet. She loves fish and commented on the fantastic salmon and prawns. I'll check with her the next time we chat. She also commented that the interaction with the characters (Princesses) was also superb.

Have not been for dinner nut we had lunch here a few weeks ago it was amazing. Lots of salad fresh meats and fish to start, good variety of main courses and dessert was yum. We have eaten at CRT a few times in the past 12 mths and this was much better

we went for dinner last month. Starters was buffet, salad and cold meats type of stuff. Mains was from a menu and dessert was a selection plate of different desserts to try. It also includes a photograph.

We found the dinner better for us than breakfast, we did breakfast a few years ago which was served family style on the table. We just don't eat a lot at breakfast to make it worth while.

My DD preferd the 1900 park farye cinderella buffet though

Really rated this meal food wise, the princesses were sort of the bonus. Great choice on the cold buffet and loved my main hot dish. Great service, nice character interaction, I was so impressed by the food considering they don't always seem to bother so much at character meals. Quite sad the boys aren't interested at all in eating here this year lol. So yes as others have said cold buffet starter, then a choice of hot main dish followed by choice of 3 desserts brought on 1 plate for you all to share
