Would love to hear from those that have done dinner at Akershus

Do they serve the meats and cheeses buffet before the meal? (kind of like at breakfast?)
What have you tried on the menu? Anything you didn't like?
How are the desserts?

What is character interaction like?
Is it at all like the breakfast

Does anyone have photos?

Lastly, would you recommend or not? Our other thougths were maybe Marrakesh or possibly San Angel because of the atomsphere. We already have Le Cellier on our list.

Thanks so much for all thoughts on this restaurant.

We had dinner at Akershus in Sept. and loved it. The cold buffet was different salads, some meats, fish and cheeses. I could have filled up on the buffet. I had Kjottkake (sp?) which is sort of like a big meatball with mashed potatoes and gravy. It was delicious. My mother had the open faced salmon sandwich which she liked, it was huge. My dd(3) loved the character interaction, she can be a little shy and all the princesses really made an attempt to get her talking. Belle was at the front where they take your pic and inside were Jasmine, Ariel, Aurora and Alice. (not sure if she actually counts as a princess?) Dessert is three different things served family style, I couldn't tell you what all they were but they were all delicious! We thought it was one of the best character meals we did. Plus the pics are a great bonus. This is definitely a must do for us.

Went there last month for dinner and loved it! The Kjottkake was very good- went very well with the potatoes. DH had the lamb stew and enjoyed it. The cold appetizer bar was also very yummy. I could have made a meal out of it. The desserts were rice cream, school bread (YUM!), and chocolate mouse cake type thing. We had Ariel, Belle, Aurora, Cinderella, and Jasmine. All were very sweet. I'd totally go again! :lovestruc

I have not eatne dinner there since it became characters( now I eat breakfast there) The dinner used to be all buffet and was very delicious.Different but delicious.i loved sampling the cheeses.

We liked the overall experience - especially as the princesses were excellent w/ their character interaction. We were there for our anniversary and each princess made a comment about that. We had our picture w/ Belle, then once seated inside we had (all in princess dresses) Ariel, Aurora, Cinderella and Jasmine.

Food-wise, not the best meal. Cold buffet was disappointing to us and not in line w/ the reviews we'd read. Our entrees were good but tiny portions, i.e., DH had one tiny chicken breast. Dessert was excellent as others have noted.

Server wise, thumbs down. He started our service by saying hello, I am too busy to take your drink order. And he left. He was clearly having a bad night, he got better as the night went on. My DH said, tip him extra, he needs the pixie dust bad. LOL.

At least we tried it but this would not be a "must do" for us, I don't even think I could get DH to try breakfast. Thank goodness all of our meals after this one were so good. Every other ADR we had, was superb, so we shook this one off as a bad night.

I HAVE BEEN THERE....the character interaction is great...i really didnt like any of the food...guess i wouldnt like Norway either...i have wonderful pictures...dont know how to post pictures.

but if some shares i will post. my dd had a great time...she just left BBB and was all dressed up for her dinner. we purchased the portrait package and we took pictures...great experience for her

We dined there for dinner last October. The princess interaction was fantastic, but the food was terrible. Not our taste at all. Actually, it was so disappointing we didn't even stay for dessert. I can't remember what we ordered for dinner, probably chicken. We are not big fish, lamb eaters; basically meat and potatoes kind of people. With that said, we are trying the breakfast next month. I didn't want to pass up my daughter seeing the princesses again in their gowns; different that CRT. Hopefully, breakfast will be a bit more of our taste. You will get a lot of opinions on here, so take them all with a grain of salt. Read the menu and see if that will appeal to you. Enjoy.
