Please tell me about your experience with the breakfast at Akershus? What is served? Characters? price? Why does this reservation require credit card info to reserve? I heard that the picture included in the price...is it the same for breakfast?

Please let me know if it's a good choice.

Here you go!

Breakfast is standard breakfast fare, the picture is included in the price and there is a cancellation policy (hence the credit card).

I think if you cancel 48 hours or more ahead of time there is not fee, but if you cancel within 48 hours of your reservation time or don't show up there is a $10 or so per person charge to your credit card.

the main part of the meal is served on your table, eggs, bacon, sausage, potato casserol...The other items are on the buffet....fruits galore, bagels and biscuits and plenty of items that were delicious.
We loved the atmosphere and the princesses took so much time with everyone....it is a good breakfast and worth it

we got this on a last minute reservation sometime in July last year..since I couldn't make our 7am Chef Mickey's ressie...I was so bummed that morning when we woke up at 6am and I was staying by Seaworld...so I went online and booked the only character breakfast that day: Akershus. so we were gonig to Epcot anyway..>I don't remember the price..I think it was $35 because they also give you a complimentary Picture with one of the princesses. The princess that day was Belle..and she was beautiful. Its a family style dining, however they do have a cold buffet line (cold cuts, muffins)...I really enjoyed this character dining...that day we saw Cinderella, Mary Poppins, Snow White, and Aurora...I heard Mulan and Ariel sometimes make an appearance and that Cinderella is not always there..I have a son and he's little so he doesn't care what charactes he sees...but service was good, food was good, restaurant was nice. and my son enjoyed all the attention from the princesses.

I think all of the relevant points have been covered, but to share my experience: This breakfast has become a tradition for our family on our first day at WDW. I think it's a great choice for our princess-happy daughters, and I enjoy the food there a great deal.

Sounds like the PP have covered all of the bases...we, too, love this breakfast. The potatoes are fantastic and we are not particular to potatoes in our family. We LOVE the interactions with the characters and have seen Belle, Aurora, Mulan, Jasmine, Cinderella, Ariel, and Snow White. (Not all on the same day...I'm pretty sure it's set up where you get your picture made with Belle and then four princesses come to the tables.)

Love it! Tradition in our family now. I hope my DDs will still want to go when they are "big girls" ;)

I didn't think the food was all that great. I really don't like powdered eggs, and the potatos had a fake taste. The buffet was ok. That said...DD loved the breakfast. The character interation was amazing. We saw Cinderella, Belle (free pic), Ariel and Snow White. Totally worth the crappy food!

The experience was great both times we have gone, the princess interaction is awesome!
The 1st time we went, the food was great, the 2nd time didn't seem as good, though it wasn't bad.
