Akershus breakfast or lunch?

trying to be thrifty, so I have booked a late morning breakfast instead of lunch. However, the meatball with berry sauce looks like a dish my husband and I would really enjoy. Plus, I'm sure he'd like to try to Norwegian beer. So, is the price increase worth it for quality of food or should we just stick with breakfast? Thanks!

Can't help you with lunch but we have been for breakfast and dinner and I'd much prefer dinner. I had the meatballs and they were delicious. Breakfast was nothing special and I would not book it again. So I would vote for lunch.

Up front, I qualify this by saying I have not done this personally, but I will give you a suggestion if you can't decide. I believe I have read on the boards that if you book a late breakfast (around 10:30am, maybe 11:00am?), you will get the end of breakfast food, but also should see them switch over to lunch foods at the buffet. I have only done breakfast at Akershus so I don't know exactly how lunch works, but that might be a way you could enjoy both.

We have only had lunch at Akershus.
DH LOVES it.
I know that's not super helpful, but, it was one of his favourite meals we had.
TBH, it is one I would drop from our choices, but, we will try and get it again, for him.

Akershus is not about the food.

If the thought of paying all that money for a nothing-special meal of scrambled eggs bothers you (particularly if you do not enjoy smoked salmon), then maybe lunch would be better.

What can be obtained from breakfast, however, is also the opportunity to arrive and finish your meal before the official Park opening and effectively be at the front of the line for newly opened Frozen Ever After and then the Meet-n-Greet. That's almost like a 'free' Fast Pass for a set of experiences you were already likely inclined to do.

The advantage of lunch is arriving near midday and shortly after the World Showcase has opened. This make first stopping at Akershus before completing the tour around the world (so to speak) as an opportunity for children to reload their energy....because you were in Future World for the morning....or are returning with FP+ after lunch......

If money is an issue - stick with breakfast, because lunch is nothing special either. Value of the food for breakfast is best obtained by people who enjoy unlimited smoked salmon at the buffet that accompanies their skillet breakfast served family-style with eggs & meat. But you're really paying for each child to be able to get photographs and autographs before dancing around with some of their favorite Princesses.

Nobody but you and your family know how to Tour Disney, but Akershus ain't about the food.

You can justify some of that expense anyway if you get there very early to ride Frozen After After.

This is not true at Akershus, as it is NOT a buffet.

Breakfast is served family style. Lunch is plated. Once you are served the family-style breakfast you will not be given the option to order plated lunch.

I agree that there is no lunch crossover here. The restaurant closes after breakfast and reopens for lunch.
Last time we went for breakfast and they serve a large platter of breakfast food and then there is a buffet of smoked fish, meats and cheeses, fruit, and oatmeal.
I enjoy Scandinavian foods so this is right up my alley and I recommend it.

Oatmeal, nice! This is obviously for our DD age 4 so sounds like it may be best to save money and just do breakfast. We will save the savory lunch and beer for biergarten.

I usually book for 8:30 and even at that, we wait about 15 minutes or so to check in and be seated. I like the early breakfasts so we can get into Epcot and get relly great photos without the crowds. The breakfast itself is family style with a buffet for fruits/pastries and some other items. Eggs and breakfast meats are brought to the table. Between the princess parade and the characters coming around for photos, expect 1 - 1.5 hours in there, which would get you out around 10am...and you'll be FULL !!! A quick ice cream mid afternoon and a 5pm dinner should help your budget!
