How is Akershouse breakfast? I'm going on a solo trip to Disney next week to celebrate my 23rd birthday! Which princesses were there?

Also need an opinion about Chef Mickey's. Should I do Chef Mickey's breakfast or chef Mickey's dinner? If I do dinner, I'll have to cancel my Garden grill dinner. Give me your opinions!!! Tell me about your experiences at these places

The food at both is mildy decent at best.

Akershus - cold items are on the buffet....fruit, danishes, yogurts etc... The hot items are brought to your table on a platter....runny scrambled eggs, breakfast meats and potatoes.
The princess are Snow White, Aurora, Cinderella, Ariel. In the past there have been Mulan and Belle, so maybe they switch every ones in a while?? There is a parade every 40 minutes or so where kids line up behind a princess and march around the restaurant

Chef Mickeys - everything is on the buffet. Characters are Mickey, Goofy, Donald, Pluto and on occasion, Minnie.

I'd suggest Tusker House breakfast instead of Chef Mickey. It's almost the same characters, but the buffet has a fantastic variety.

I like Akershus Breakfast and if you want to meet the Princesses, this is a good one to do so. The food is brought to the table, for the most part, so you do not need to get up and down.

Given a choice, Chef Mickey or Garden Grill, I would choose Garden Grill. I like CM and do not find it deplorable, as is often the case here, but GG is more relaxed, and you add CHip and Dale into the character mix.

SO to round out your characters, if I could choose one more character meal, I would choose Tusker House...it is a great place to eat, you have the Mouse and friends, and they are in Safari garb!!!! Or 'Ohana breakfast. Once again, the meal is brought to you, but you have Lilo and Stitch. I like it here.

I'd do Chef Mickey breakfast. First because people are right, the Dinner food is very, very underwhelming. We went the first time 2 weeks ago for dinner, nervous as everyone under the sun had bad things to say, and walked away thoroughly disappointed. It's below average I'd say as a restaurant in general, and bottom of the barrel compared to all of the other places we've been to at Disney.

FYI, tried Garden Grill for the first time at lunch this trip, and it was the best meal of the trip (characters and food were great). Akershus breakfast this trip was probably also one of our favourite in terms of food, it was pretty good. We saw Ariel, Aurora, Snow White, Cinderella and Belle.
