Now AK has EE i don't know what our touring plan should be. We are planning to visit AK on 9/3 and 9/8 being there for opening time. How soon does EE get busy? These are the rides that are most important to us to ride:
Kilmanjaro Safaris
Dinosaur
Kali River Rapids
Expedition Everest
..and of course we don't mind riding them more than once. So any ideas of what our touring plan should be?

EE is by far the most popular attraction at AK. So it has to be your first stop, either to ride or to grab FP's. When we were there a couple weeks ago, we arrived shortly after opening time. My family all went to Dinoland while I went to get FP's for EE. I think I got to EE about 9:45 (park opened at 9) and the FP return time was around 1:30. When I got back to Dinoland, it was still not crowded at all and we all went on Dinosaur with almost no wait.

Wow I can't believe the FP return times were already 1:30pm by 9:45. I was planning on being there when the park opens and getting FP right away....I wonder what the return time would be then. Do you remember if it was an EMH morning?

It wasn't an EMH day. Now that I think about it, I'm not positive that it was a 1:30 return time. I definitely remember 1:30, but it may have been a 12:30 - 1:30 window. We had planned on being there before rope drop at 9am, but we were running a little late. It seemed like everyone entering AK was headed to EE.

So if you want to ride it early or ride it more than once, I'd definitely plan on being there before opening time. Otherwise, just grab FP's and go enjoy something else. The good news about EE is that it should be easier to get on Dinosaur, Kali, or the Safari in the morning now.

What's the best route to take at rope drop to EE? Via Dinoland or around the Tree via Asia?

Thanks!
Barbara

I'd agree to get to EE as early as possible. We got there later than planned a couple weeks ago, and after a few stops, got the FP at about 10:30 with a return time of 3:50-4:50. Luckily(?) it takes awhile to walk to most places in that park, so we were easily able to kill the time.

Walked right on the safari, made it to the Lion King show (only to have "technical difficulties" which caused it to be cancelled), ate Flame Tree, did all the Dino-stuff, and made it back to ride EE at about 4:30.

Unless you want to spend all day at AK, you'd better get there REALLY early ... unless crowds are smaller than when we went.

According to UG Touring Plans site, through Asia is the way to go.

Duh... never mind, did a serach and found it. I LOVE his info, but it's so hard to navigate at time with ALL that info.

Back to your reguarly scheduled topic...

When does the FP for rapids get past about 2pm? I was thinking of:
Going straight to EE at opening and get a FP (my mum really wants to ride it then get FP but i will have to stop her)
Go ride safari
Go ride Dinosaur
Go get FP for rapids
Ride EE using FP
Have Lunch
Ride Rapids
