AK to Disney MGM

My sister and family will be leaving Tuesday, the 30th, for Orlando. They are staying offsite and would like to go to AK one day and about mid-afternoon go to Disney MGM. Since AK closes at 5:00 p.m. and Disney MGM is open until 8:30 p.m., if they ride a Disney bus to MGM and stay until after AK closes, does anyone know how late a bus will return to AK from MGM? They don't know if they should drive to MGM from AK or if they should go by Disney bus.

I believe what you are saying is that they are driving to AK and then going to MGM. There will be no bus back to AK when they leave MGM as it ends by about an hour after AK closes. They should drive from AK to MGM; there is no additional parking fee as long as they keep their receipt from AK. Moreover, it is a faster trip than taking the bus anyway. It is very easy to get out of the AK park entrance, catch tram to car and then drive to MGM, park and catch tram to MGM park entrance. Total trip, park entrance to park entrance won't take more than 30 minutes.

Last March we found the WDW transportation from AK to MGM to be particularly slow. WE hopped about 1:30 pm and had to wait in a line so long that we didn't get on the first one that pulled up but had to wait for a second one. We took about 1.5 hrs. to get from AK to MGM. This year we're driving.
