aK summer hrs past 5?????crowds???

I thought it always closed at 5 but according to historical hrs it's open in Aug till 8 or 10? if this is right, are the crowds in the evening better or worse? some have commented it is a really hot park and since we have usually gone in winter when that is not a problem, I wonder if it would be better to go later in the day in the summer ( unexpected fast 2 day trip end of August). also since the park hrs are shorter toward the end of the month i am guessing the crowds go down?( hope hope) any ideas?

During the summer we've been closing at 6pm every night, and at 7pm on Mondays and Fridays (extra Magic hour days). I beleive we'll go back to closing at 5pm beginning August 20th. Locals schools will all have reopened by then and the crowds go down
