AK Safari

Was wondering how intense this attraction is. My wife will be 5 mos. pregnant and I have a 2 yr old daughter. would you reccomend it or is it too intense?

I was at AK when I was three months pregnant and I didn't go on the safari because of the warnings posted. A year later, I rode it and thought there was nothing bad about it at all. But last March I rode it again, and it was very bumpy and I would not have liked it if I was pregnant. Some bumps were very jarring - I actually popped up off the seat.

The problem with making a recommendation is that the weather and other conditions affect the ride each day. Some days it might be bumpier than others.

At five months pregnant, I would suggest your wife skip the ride. If she's bummed about missing the animals, take her to AKL for dinner or lunch, and walk out to the viewing areas and sit in the rocking chairs on one of the open balconies, where you can also watch the animals roaming around.

Forgot to add in my earlier post that my 2 year old daughter loved the safari, so if your wife doesn't mind, let her have a seat and rest and you take your daughter on it. It's not scary at all and the safari vehicle doesn't go too fast. I'm a ride wimp and if I can do it, a two year old can do it. Definitely take her.

Not too intense for the 2 year old, at all. If anything my 2 year old was unimpressed, probably because everything is relatively far away. There's maybe one of two little animatronics about a baby elephant being poached (happy ending, though), but everything else is real. It's not like there's a herd of rhinos storming the truck or anything like that.

That being said, it's a very bumpy ride, and your wife may be physically uncomfortable due to that.
