We have ADR @ AK Rainforest Cafe....so I was wondering if anyone felt like giving me their honest opinions on this restaurant and any food selection recommendations? Thanks In Advance!!!!!

Rainforest Cafe is a really cool restaurant. It's like you are really in the rainforest, surrounded by animals. There is an actual thunderstorm that happens while you are in there (minus the rain of course!). The food is really good, and the portions are on the large side. Last time me and my friends went, I had the Volcanic Cobb salad, and I barely ate half! It was huge! One of my friends had the Mojo bones, which are their specialty ribs. He said they were good and a little bit spicy. They have good pizzas there too. It's just an all around fun restaurant because the atmosphere is so great. Enjoy!! :tink:

Our family ate lunch at Rainforest Cafe at AK in December. My husband thought the hamburger was disgusting....but I really liked the chicken ceasar salad. My son enjoyed the kids chicken strips. My daughter, the picky eater, didn't like anything on the menu....except thought the flashing plastic cups were cool....yep, we ended up with two of them.

It is a noisy atmosphere...we were seated near the large fish tank...which the kids loved. During the rainstorms you really couldn't have a conversation with someone across from you without the need to raise your voice.

The thing that really made a bad impression was the ineptitude of our server. When it came time for the bill, he mixed up our order with the people next to us who were trying to settle their bill also. It took 3 tries to finally get the bill correct.

We probably won't go back.

my 2 cents
great atmosphere - GROSS food
but then again i do keep coming back, having gone to the one in disney, totonto, niagara falls, and vegas!

We have one up at the mall by where we live and we got the member card thing. The food is decent. Not great, not horrible, but decent. It is a bit overpriced for the quality but the main reason to go is the themeing in the restaurant. The restaurant itself is cool, and definately worth a visit if you haven't been before, we do like that they have decent fish/veggie options for my husband as well. We really enjoy their crab dip appitizer. Hubby really enjoys one of the two fish combo plates as well. Overall it is worth the experience, though it will be far from the best food you've ever had.

My opinions: interesting and enjoyable atmosphere, slightly above average food, and costly. We went at lunch, and it was simply too much money for lunch. The portions were good-sized, though, if that justifies the cost for you.

Keep in mind that there other Rainforest Cafes out there in the world, and the food is similar to other sit-down chain restaurants. If you are looking for adventure in food, try one of the EPCOT restaurants or Boma or Jiko. If you are more interested in an entertaining and unique atmosphere and decent food, go to Rainforest Cafe.

WORLDS LOUDEST RESTAURANT!!!

No kiddin', but the food is pretty good. We had the Volcano for dessert, now that was great!

I LOVE this place...I have to go their every year...normally I go to the one in DTD but last year I went to the one in AK ...I love it there...the food i thought was good...and the portions are big! :cool1:

My DH and DS (16) love the pot roast, I always get the turkey wrap. We love the RFC and go every year.

:thumbsup2
We eat here on every trip and actually like the food. I usually get either the Buffalo Chicken salad or a pizza. The atmosphere is very fun!

We had breakfast at the RFC in AK a few years ago and it was great! I loved the food, service and atmosphere. I haven't tried it for lunch or diinner so I can't comment on that.

We're Rainforest Cafe fans. The kids love the atmosphere (I do too), and the food is pretty good. It is really fun to eat at the AK Rainforest. The jungle theme is a great fit
for AK. Also, Rainforest is a great place to eat lunch after a morning spent touring AK. It is loud, but the waterfall and greenery are refreshing. The gift store is big and has some unique items. Enjoy!

We ate there in December. The food is a bit over priced in my opinion, but the portions are large and the quality is good. I really enjoyed the cheese sticks. The theming is great, but noisy! After being in the parks all day, I think I would have preferred a nice relaxing atmosphere...not that I expected one there. :rotfl: Anyway, I'm glad that I went. It's a good experience and I would definately recommend it if you have kids. :thumbsup2

Great atmosphere, which is what you are paying for ... mediocre food with VERY high prices.

Overall the service at this chain is subpar. (Are they killing the cow for my hamburger back there?) I have eaten at them in several cities including both of the Disney ones. Always had the worlds SLOWEST service LOL! It's fun. Portions are HUGE!!!

Loved it. DD still talks about the volcano dessert. Portions are VERY generous (unlike most Disney restuarants) food and atmosphere great. :thumbsup2
