Has anyone been to the AK Rain Forest Cafe? Would you recommend it for breakfast or dinner? We are trying to decide whether to go b/4 park opening or at closing. Any help would be appreciated.

rainforest cafe serves a very good breakfast, but keep in mind they do not open until 8:30. so, if you are wanting to get an early breakfast and then onto the park, this will not be the place. good luck! :earboy2:

We have eaten there for both breakfast and dinner. Food was pretty good both times although nothing outstanding IMHO. Since AK closes so early when we go (5 PM) we found the eating dinner there was a nice way to end the evening and it didn't cut into our park time like eating breakfast did.

Thanks for the replies. I'm still not sure what to do. I've heard that you can definately do AK in one day so I figured it wouldn't matter if we did breakfast and got into the park a little later. The reason I'm not sure about dinner is b/c we were thinking about trying Boma. Decisions, decisions...

I would definitely do Boma for dinner over RFC

If you've never been to a Rainforest Cafe and would like to try Boma, then by all means try it for breakfast. The themeing is like NO other! Every 15 minutes there is a "thunder storm" (not scarey at all) and they also have elephants and all sorts of monkeys and chimps in life size....oh it's just great. The kids just love it! The food portions are very generous. We have one not far from us, and we take the DGDs there for supper every so often - gives us a quasi Disney fix. :flower:
I also love the buffet at Boma's. No wild decor, but delicious food. And I like walking around the outside of AKL too - a very special resort to visit.

I found the food at RFC to be average, and the service to be a little slow. They do have some neat desserts, and as others say the theming is pretty good, but I think you could get the full experience just going for dessert as an afternoon break or something. I'd compare it to something like Applebees - steaks, burgers, and appetizers are generally good but anything more complex not so much. I'm pretty blase about the place, as you can tell - I'd go there again if the mood struck me, but it's not someplace that I feel the need to visit every trip.

Thanks for the idea of have just having a dessert there if the mood strikes. I think that's what we are going to do. We just couldn't decide b/n breakfast and dinner and this is a great solution. There is just SO much planning that goes into visiting Disney that you just miss the simplest solution! ;)

Even if you decide not to eat here at all - it's right at the entrance to AK, so at least walk thru and take a peek. The kids will especially like it. It's a neat place.

Being that it is right at the park you could also do lunch there we have ate there alot of times and it is awsome the kid portions are huge as are the adults the chicken fried chicken is to die for!!! And no one makes better garlic mashed potatos then the RFC !!!! YUMMMMM
