DS and his GF are all excited to try this together. I told him they should save doing this towards the end of the day or they will end up carrying around the drawings on rides etc. Has anyone done this recently that can tell me the size of the drawings and if the put it in anything (like a tube). I told him if they are small he can bring a sling bag with a gallon size ziploc bag so they stay dry incase it rains etc.

They are like regular paper sized. I rolled them up and used a hair tie to keep them together to carry them.

Back when this activity was at the Studios, people would bring an empty paper towel tube and protect/store their rolled up drawings inside the tube.

The Animation Experience at Conservation Station drawings we have from July 2019 (when it opened there) measure 12.5 inches by 10.5 inches.

Be aware that it closes earlier than the park hours. The last Wildlife Train is 4:30 and the last drawing class is 4:45. Sometimes the classes are filled, so I wouldn't wait too late.

Mine are also 12.5 by 10.5 - but again - from 2019 so paper size could have changed. Definitely need a plastic bag to keep them dry and a way to roll them up. I used a hair tie since its something I always have in my pocket. I do think a paper towel tube - or a piece cut from a wrapping paper tube would be great for getting them home. If you do this in the morning and want to keep them nice - it would be worth carrying the tube into the park in the morning so they don't get beat up all day. One of the two times I've done this - I did it shortly before park hopping and I admit to renting a locker at the next park just to store it! I'm such a geek......

I just did this on my New Year Eves trip. The size seems correct 12.5 x 10.5.
Having something to keep it rolled it a must, whether a string , a paper clip, etc and the paper towel roll is an outstanding tip. I have to remember that one for next time!!

We did this last year.
I got a tip, and tried it. Take an empty Paper Towel Roll with you. When you are finished- roll up the drawings and put them in the paper towel roll. Leave them in that- until home. They will be perfect. We pulled them out 10 days later, and flattened them with an old college text book for a week.
You could also use a small piece of PVC piping I'd guess if you want extra safety.

I never heard of the paper towel tube trick. When I take a poster someplace to be signed, I get a tube from a store such as Staples. You can cut the tube down to make it shorter. But that would be a lot bigger to get in your luggage than a paper towel tube.
