AK question

Just wondering if any of you veteran WDW goers can tell me what used to be at the AK, I'm thinking I saw it around the ASIA area but not 100% sure but it looks like there used to be an attraction there that went on the water. There seems to be a loading area with lines, etc. Our first trip was 2004 so whatever it was, was gone when we were there. This question is not of any particular importance, just curious as to what used to be there and why is it gone now?

Thanks, that is what I was looking for. I knew that area looked like a loading/unloading spot for boats and wondered why they didn't have something of that effect there.
